as much as I love Oakey.. has something happened since, oh lets say the Swordfish soundtrack that's made his music just suck?? The lead in this track is just terrible.. And almost everything he's done lately has shared this/my same exact opinion. Of course there was a couple I liked as of late: Tokyo, and Firefly, but there was a day when he could do no wrong. Hmm.. I wonder what's changed..

I dont agree, Oakie has always been at the top of his game in my eyes, never afraid to try different things.

from where I stand, the man will always be a "great" DJ. He's achieved legendary status as far as I'm concerned. But what blows my mind, is that this track above sounds off key, that lead is stagnant, and not trying to be judgemental or anything, but the real Mili vanili - Blame it on the rain, remix would've been a helluva lot better.

Okenfoald has been declined by many to write for him especially when it comes to cinema. He is a complete tool. Anyone still that insecure not to give credit where credit is due is just an idiot in my books. Ghost writing just doesn't make sense when you are 50.

well he's coming to Atlanta in a little while, and I'm gonna give him another shot. I've only seen him once during his "face lift" tour and I think it was a bunch of corporate production instead of him actually doing what he does. So, I'm gonna check em out. But after that, if its not even remotely close to the Oakenfold that I've loved forever, then I won't see him again.. There's enough electro acts in the scene that imo are better at playing electro.

it doesn't matter. You wil be drunk, he will be playing a cd and snorting coke.

This forum is just the same cycle of users talking shit to eachother in various threads, with Looney4Clooney leading the show, though i gotta admit he is mildly entertaining.

dont care what anyone says, this track will always put a smile on my face

as for the op..just sounds like a saw with some filtering with a detune/delay/reverb combination.

only listened to the first 15 seconds though.

Which part are you talking about? The synth in the intro that is playing the C# 3-note sequence, or the supersaw lead during the chorus?

The one in the intro sounds like a couple of detuned saws with a pluck-style envelope on the amp/filter, and some FM, or possibly a touch of very fast LFO applied to the cutoff to dirty it up/make it squelchy. It also sounds like the envelope is adding a touch of pitch modulation. Lots of delay and some reverb, of course.

I hear a supersaw type pluck (sounds actually like one of the JP6K presets) and your avg Virus ti pluck.
