the food thread

list where to get good eats and what not. or if u have questions, maybe someone can answer them

Miami residents, or those in the know, where do u get that goood cuban coffee, u know, they one thats like jet fuel and is served in shot size cups?

Puerto Sagua!

thats the best you'll find on the beach but defiantly not the best in miami. i laughed so hard when i ordered a pan con bistec there. most places in miami serve you something you have no chance in hell of finishing. this thing was done in 3 bites.

the taste is good though so i would still recommend it since people arent really going to venture out to where you need to.

and they have the coffee everyone needs too. i think davids cafe on lincoln also has good cuban coffee. its not exactly on lincoln but right off of it. pretty sure its on meridian. just google that shit.

honestly im not really sure. not too big of a coffee drinker. cafe con leche is coffee with milk but i think they come in small shots too. cafecito sounds more right but like i said i really dont know.

It's Cafecito. One drink and you'll be wired. I personally love it because I LOVE sugar. When I get a coffee I usually dump tons of sugar in it. With this its a little shot and its super sweet. You can't leave Miami without getting one of those. Pretty cheap too.

pizza rustica seems to be a hit with a lot of people for a quick fix. 3 locations in SoBe

Burger & Beer Joint on 18th ST and Bay Rd ( Near Venetian Causeway)

I agree with DisbejS Food on Oceandrive not only is terrible but so freaking expensive !!

Posted by chillenandy321 on Mar-02-2012 13:03:

We had a problem back in 09 with a place Oceandrive when they would not split the bill for us. We threatened to walk out on them then finally they did after waiting a half hour. Never do that shit again. ******s!

i recommend you guys watch an an episode of "Layover" with Anthony Bourdain. He goes to some pretty low key places, looks legit and he also recommend Club Deuce haha

I'd recommend Puerto Sagua as well.

Glad to see that south beach has a 24 hr five guys, man that franchise has blown up! It started in the DC area here a couple decades ago.

24 hours? last time i checked (months ago though) they close at 4.

Definite, David's Cafe on Lincoln & Meridian is great for all the traditional cuban dining cravings. Its the first & last place I hit when in Miami, its become tradition.
Jimmy'z Kitchen.... Holy shi*t, best mofongo hands down. Both the shrimp & the chicken mofongo are bangin'. There's two locations: SOBE & Wynwood. SOBE does delivery.

I see Miami has Shake Shack now, anybody try it out yet? I know the ones in New York are good stuff...

Posted by ravracer16 on Mar-03-2012 14:36:

All the times i've been to WMC and even when I lived in Miami(Kendall) I still haven't been to La Sandwicherie. So I have to check that place out.

Anyone know where to get some good/reasonably priced mojitos around SoBe? I'm mainly a vodka person, but I have some friends coming this year for their first time so I figure I'll show them the ropes.
