Lame thread - where can I buy an Atari games console?

Is there a modern version?
I want that really old sky diver game to go with it, that no one seems to have played except me. Plus space invaders. The online ones are always shite and you cant to do player.

Or can I buy a second hand Atari console and games safely? Where from?

Believe it or not I've never used ebay - is it safe?

You could just download an emulator and roms.

I dunno if you have Swap Meets in London, but here I see them there all the time. Rite Aid Pharmacy also sells a new version of it for cheap with a lot of games built in.

oh nope, you weren't the only one. I was rofl every time I crushed the poor sprite straight on the ground. One of the best gaming moments in my life, I was like... eeeerm 6?7?

I have one but unfortunately I don't sell it. What you might look for is the atari flashback on ebay, but it's hard to find. Skydiver is built-in as well as tons of great moments.

What I'm looking for is the best games on that 2600: River Raid and Decathlon. Ahhhh. Amazing times.

Check this link here:

Flashback 1 works here. I have a pal bg version.

I know this doesn't answer your question but we had an Atari 2600 (I wouldn't know it by name but looked it up) in a back closet in my house when I was a kid, maybe even around year 2000. Its really weird though because that was the only game system we ever had and probably got rid of it sometime when I still would have enjoyed playing it. No idea why my parents had one as they were very anti-game system.

It may be lame now, but the only computer I've ever regretted getting rid of was my Atari 400.

It took just half an hour to load a tape game and the 8 bit graphics were so damn impressive.

I miss that thing.

yeah, well, you said you've been caught playing with your joystick by most of your family members, that seems pretty lame too. maybe if you played more video games your reaction time would've been quick enough to avoid that.

It's a myth that computer games speed up anything in terms of reaction times, of course apart form the years you're losing while playing them.

playing any real sport that requires reflexes will do more in 5 minutes to your reflexes than days spent trying to up your mana in WOW.

I still miss my Atari.

Why did it take you 14 minutes to post that reply?

i had to really concentrate plus back then , you had to watch muchmusic for like an hour till they showed a sexy video. It really wasn't that simple. To the point where you planned it to certain shows.

But i got that all out of the way when i was in grade 7. Including video games. Any adult that plays video games with the exception of any WW2 strategy game that is not real time or any submarine sim is a dork. And if you play anything that involves magic and gems and shit, you should be taxed more. That goes for all over weight people. There should be a fat tax, a dork tax and a pole tax.

Might not be universal but that game made me faster at pretty much everything. that's me playing with a keyboard btw, not DDR, I'm not asian enough to pull that off

I've always said this.

Fuks me off when I have to find gay keys and other shit that's not real world. I especially hate little back stories I have to keep fast forwarding. Also anything with swords or sabres is total lameness. I've always done real martial arts contests and sparring so I cant stand anything like pretend fighting as it's pointless. Why be fat and pretend to be a fighter, do it for real.

All I want to do is arrive and shoot, no fucking layers of banal shit to wade through. Also I only like 2 player games like James Bond on wii where I can be a sniper and pick em off. For some reason I get a lot of pleasure out of sniping - must mean something shrinky like Mum didn't let me suk her tits long enough when I was 1 or something (13?).
