May 2012, the end of Black Out
After more than 3 years of bringing you the most forward thinking sounds and the best underground artists, Black Out is saying farewell on Friday May 4th 2012 with an all night extended set by Creator.
In November 2008, Circus took a leap of faith and helped bring my vision to life. I will be forever grateful for their support, open mindedness and giving me the best years of my DJing career.
In a moment when techno was basically on life support, Black Out was way ahead of it's time and brought it back to Montreal.
The night built a solid reputation for it's unique sound and innovative bookings. We gave Erphun's first international gig. It was also the first time Tommy Four Seven, Brian Sanhaji and Monoloc came to North America. We showcased talent such as Perc, Pfirter, Traversable Wormhole and Gary Beck for the first time in Montreal. Brought you great nights with Alex Bau, Chris Liebing, John Digweed and many of your favorite local acts.
Month after month, you gave me the great privilege of being your host, warming up for my favorite artists or letting me play those long 8 hours marathon sets. These nights will always be part of my most cherished memories.
I always said I was playing for one of the best crowd in the world and many of my guests confirmed it. I hope you will be there and share this last Black Out with me.
Thank you and much love to all of you.

Congrats Martin. You've run a successful monthly that most djs dream of. Good luck on your future endeavors.
Thank you ;-)
I had you marked down for summer, not May
End of Black Out and/or end of you djing?

no seriously, black out has been a fucking awesome trip.
thank you Martin for everything you brought to Circus, its crowd and to Montreal in general. We have all grown because of you. You know I don't like that you are ending this night, because I really enjoy working with you, hope we will continue to work together on other projects in a near future.
Next stop Passeport March 23rd, I'll be there with bells on !!!
Thanks for the kind words, and you also know I really enjoy working with you and how much I respect you. You are by far the best promoter I have seen in the EDM scene of Montreal.
May 4th is the last Black Out and my last 8 hours set.
I'm slowing down activities, will take a few gigs here and there and be done by the end of summer as promised. ;-)
Martin it would be an understatement to say that your night was one of the key things that got me to where I am in my musical tastes at the moment. Still remember those crazy nights in 2009/10... I don't regret any of it.
I will try my best to make an appearance for the last ever Blackout.
The last Black Out will be massive and emotional. EVERYBODY I know is coming to this one.
Hopefully people will push me to play the longest one yet ;-)
My 2 favorite Black Out flyers....

Sucks to say goodbye sometimes. You're events were amazing! Pure professionalism on your part. Favorite event was the first time that T47 came. He did something special there.
Great night ahead !!!

wooooohoooooooo coming to this toooo
me too!
Just came back home from Circus, my god... last night was freakin phenomenal! I can't imagine how epic next month will be.
For the occasion, we will build an amazing visual set-up, I can already tell you this will be the best of all Black Outs.
My intention is to go all the way t'ill noon... so get some rest ;-)
Martin, dude, I went across to Stereo after filming some of your performance and I gotta say you're right up there with Dubfire.
Your consistency, energy, track selection, mixing finesse, everything, was no different going from Circus to Stereo.
It's really a pity you're leaving the DJ game but I really hope this motivates people to check out your final gig at circus next month.
Thanks Marcus ;-)
Congrats Martin, you were always one of my faves. Sad I'll miss the end. Happy i was there in the beginning
Thanks Ninja!
I'm very proud and excited to say that Aurelien Lafargue will perform and build a new and special visual set-up for the last Black Out event.
BIG thanks to Circus for making this last night special and memorable.
