EDC in Orlando this year again?
Does anyone know if EDC will be in Orlando again this year?
i could very well be wrong but i think i remember seeing something somewhere that it would be coming back to orlando again. but dont ask me where im getting this from.
as of now its still in the air it was the dude that did orlando calling and the guys who did edc both want to come back and both want to do it in november so i think there is a bidding war....i worked it last yr and talking to they guys from beachem and the main guys from edc crew sure seemed like a big positive that they would come back
I also heard from a friend who worked it last year and knows one of the promoters that it may happen in November.
November would be perfect! We rarely have any festivals in the fall in FL.

| Dear Orlando, EDC is in the works. We are working diligently to make this year substantially bigger than last. Because we are moving the date to a cooler time of the year we are simply not ready to announce it. Keep your shorts on - and in the meantime please check out a new and exciting event coming to Tampa! https://www.facebook.com/events/376550649029573/ |
thanks for the replies everyone!
Check out my thread or go to www.Dynastygroupvegas.com if anyone is coming for EDC!
I was just talking about EDC coming back to Orlando this year with my friend who went last year. A few things to consider: 1. EDC took place in Orlando for the first time last year (end of May) 2. EDC announced a new sight this year happening in New York (mid May). I hope that New York is not going to replace Orlando this year. We should know officially in a couple of weeks where EDC is taking place this year.
It's coming back. On Facebook, the promoters even said as much. It's being pushed back to the Fall, and they said it'll be bigger than last year.
I speculate a big reason why they wanted to push it back to the Fall was because of the dreaded Florida thunderstorms in the summer. It delayed the first day last year and it's a very real possibility that it could basically shut down the entire festival. With that much money and effort invested in a festival like that, I'm sure they want to pick a less risky time of the year in terms of the weather. Plus it gives them breathing room from Ultra...I would guess a lot of people didn't go because they just went to Ultra two months ago.
This EDC Orlando thing could get really big. As a lifelong Orlando resident (minus a few years here and there), one of the things that seems to irritate the community to no end is the lack of use of the Citrus Bowl. If this festival gets big enough, they could put the main stage inside of the Citrus Bowl (and you would have to think the city of Orlando would be all for it...). This thing could get massive. The turnout was pretty damn good last year especially considering such a short notice, and only 2 months after Ultra.
I would love to go to EDC in Orlando. I heard good things about it from my friend who went last year (thunderstorm considered). Why would they, however, have the festival in Orlando in the Fall? I thought the point was to have mini festivals prior to EDC in Las Vegas as a warm-up. That was the case last year and the years before that as I remember. Only Puerto Rico was after EDC Las Vegas.
I don't see why it has to be contingent on Las Vegas...I think the potential is there to have a big festival no matter if it's before or after Vegas...and frankly, again, why compete with Ultra when you don't have to? A November timeframe is perfect... I know that time of the year, EDM fans in Florida start getting anxious for WMC and Ultra weekend. EDC-Orlando would definitely hit the spot. Almost guaranteed to have great weather, no competition from other huge festivals, and a spacious venue that can become huge with the inclusion of the actual stadium.
Can't wait!
if you also look at the 2009+2010 tiesto ucf shows you'll see oct/nov was a great time for them. and how much it grew from one year to the next.
Even though I'd love something to attend during Memorial Day weekend, it'll do much better in November. Smart decision.
The Identity Festival was just announced for August 3rd in Tampa.

Guess we can start a new thread; really strange lineup to me. Does the general public really care for Prydz? Know who he is? I didn't think so... we'll see.
Ya but it's cheap and the other headliners (PVD, Wolfgang, Arty (this guy is gonna take over the scene a la Avicii really soon) Porter Robinson, Madeon (see Arty), Nero) will bring the masses. The house music heads will come for Prydz too. Better question is, why are you complaining?
For 25 bucks, you can't beat it!!

I really don't care much for prydz but i'd listen to his set if there was nothing else to do.
BUt I'd LOVE to see arty and PVD again. PVD has just had such high energy sets every time i've seen him.
