My new and freash idea for a Trance track call "A PROMISE" (early WIP)
I consider another idea to develop farther and would like you guys to give me some feedback on it.
I'm after very dynamic and full of energy 138bpm Trance with some melodic and catchy part in it but I'm not really set on anything yet and your input would be more then welcome
So do you feel enough energy is coming in from 0:20~0:21 part, does this have enough dynamic impact for you??? - what do you think?
Here we go:
DriusX - A PROMISE (early WIP - different direction from this early track) by DariusX.
Thank you,
Darek
Too short! Everything else sounds great though. Can't wait to hear the finished product.
I should just keep a word-file with this text handy because quality WIP's happen often enough to warrant it.

Wow nice one Darek, always love your work.
nice driving energy that's mellow, it's really chilling me out man and i get the sense that this ones about to take off... yea to short hehehe
what you've got so far is really nice. Its begging for something awesome to happen, please deliver!
This could go one of two ways ... already there's an interesting mimimal (almost ambient) trance texture to this and you could develop along those lines. Otherwise, you could develop more parts that fill the chords and the bass out, a set of fuller or full on rhythm parts and then develop a hook on the top.
With the second route, it's up to you how much you apply the 'epic' approach (so to speak) as those are really nice chords and interesting enough to underpin a really ambitous tune.
Dropping back to this minimal style would give amazing scope for dynamics too!!
Great stuff ...

- always great to have your opinion Peter, really appreciate man and have a good one !!!
I think you are a deceptively good producer. I don't know if it is because you aren't a big self promoter (or because you were talking in the clouds about 'changing the way music is sold' a few weeks back :P) but I didn't realize how serious a producer you are soon enough.
One thing I notice about this song and your Colours track is your main melody is very staccato. Or maybe I should say melodies, it is hard to pin down one melody in your songs, which is a good thing. Lots of different parts playing short notes kind of create an atmosphere. So your songs move and don't drag at all. And, they don't sound loopy. So your soundscape has a subtleness to it, and isn't overly 'loud' or dominating feeling. I really like the colours submission you gave, especially after listening to it a few times; professional, lovely song.
I am not trying to relegate you to a specific style or sound but your stuff reminds me of the trance Sasha was playing in the early to mid 2000's (I mean a current, relevant sounding version of it). Kind of a Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp style trance. That is really a compliment because I like that kind of Sasha trance better than the More uplifting stuff that got huge in the mid 2000's. Cause honestly your stuff is current but I don't know where you should send it because I think you need to be on a major label!
For my understanding of 'dynamic' this is quite far.
Anyway, I'd like to suggest someone who's been a huge inspiration for me and exemplifies perfectly what I mean with 'dynamic'.

but first I will continue with my vision on this track and see if I can get something really cool and catchy out of it
Has a compelling feel and energy Darek, it really could go a few ways this. It has sufficient dynamic energy and you should keep this tight and focused gradually building the enrgy. The odd short snare / percs drum variation snippet would be good to introduce the next rung up on the energy ladder at appropriate points.
Nice sounds and mix so far.
This is a great start to what will surely be an epic track. I'm really digging this one, Darek!

I think the first pluck sounds a little out of tune - think it would sound better with less wow/flutter
bottom end is a bit muddy - the bass and the kick aren't interfering, but it's a bit indistinct down there.
this is the easy bit though - the break and the main meat of the track are the hard bits!
nice generally though
hope this helps

- it is not really that easy to impress you and the fact that you really digging this short WIP give me some extra motivation to make something good and special from it
nice work dude, warm sounds all around. really nice synth for that pluck and nice chords. really waiting for a snare to drop in though. but oveall the atmosphere is excellent and the FX and perc are pretty nice!

Nice man, I dig it! Still waiting for the clap/snare though, any particular reason you're keeping it out? BTW, would you mind checking my latest? it's hi-guys.
I think the kick could cut through the mix a little better, maybe a bit more high end.
I do like the track a lot, but I think the track needs a hook melody. There's plenty of great melodies but they're sort of creating a slurry right now.
You need a focal point, or at least a climax that has one solid lead that takes presence in the mix that has a melody that's extremely memorable, and then I think you could get this one climbing up the charts.
I do rather wish it had a snare/clap, though :P
Lovely texture - I wish I knew how to make (let alone put together!!) all those individual little parts!! (I'm still very much learning the ropes). For this reason, I shall refrain from expressing any thoughts about the technical/production quality as this would basically involve me throwing rocks where I'm actually better placed to be watering tomatoes (sorry if taht seems esoteric - maybe I'm having a 'Cantona Moment').
Anyway, to me, this is could still go those one of two ways I mentioned in my earlier comment... although, there's a lovely ambient foundation to this and I wonder whether introducing an epic dimension to this would be a kind of betrayal to the work you've done so far.
Nice work and I thinks it's fine without the snare/claps with what it is at the moment!!
Cheers
Alan
Nice textures and layers, but i feel the track doesn't really go anywhere, i respect that it is a WIP thou.If you skip through the track in 8 parts everything's just repeating for the whole duration it feels. What is the purpose of the track? Is it something for just listening pleasure? Or a dance track? Or dont you know which direction you wish to take this in yet?
Appreciate guys for your comments, I will respond to them when I get back from my vacation on Saturday.
Darek
