Complete Progressive Trance Track [Feedback] <<Love that stuff :D

I can't believe I'm just now discovering this forum. After trance.nu got shut down I was lost for a while, and took shelter over at the anjuna forums, although I'm still not entirely sure what the general goal of that community over there was, it seems this community is more proactive judging by the forum activity. That makes me happy . Anyway, I've been producing for a little over a year, and was hoping to get some feedback on my recent production.

I'm very appreciative of feedback and whoever provides any can be assured that I will return the favor (just directly contact me and Ill give you a wall--nicely organized series of technically oriented paragraphs ).

lovely warm sounding breakdown(you can tell sylenth a mile off!)

could progress a little faster in general

EQ is key in this track, it's almost right, but now you should use it to pick out and focus the synths.

it all sounds a little energy-less after the break - it's got to hit quite hard - eq will help, but your percs are very sedentry.

hope this helps - if you can, have a listen to my stuff.

Much appreciated on the feedback there bro. I'm not entirely sure what you mean with the eqing, but I'm sure what you're saying is something that will get weened out with more mixing experience << me weening it out.

Your "lovely warm sounding breakdown" comment made me giggle with delight. It just put a +1 in Z3ta2's corner in the proverbial Z3ta vs Sylenth (and other synths not mentioned) debate :P. It really goes to show that its not what synth you use, albeit some inherently produce a certain sound more easily than others (and I will admit I have a thing for the aggressive nature of z3ta); but with the right tweaking you can get almost any synth to sound the way you want, and Z3ta is my bass and supersaw/pluck workhorse.

Sylenth was used for one instrument in the track, but it was just for the pitched square pluck sound that plays interspersed with the bassline at the beginning . I really have a fondness for the sound sylenths square wave coupled with the internal distortion unit creates.

Where would you like me to listen to your stuff at? Youtube, Sound Cloud? Throw me a link and I'll listen to it.

the thing about eq is being a bit surgical with it - isolating the main elements of the sound with little boosts, and cutting the bits that don't need to be there and just interfere with other sounds. you have to tweak whilst listening to the elements all together and in isolation.

my soundcloud is in my sig (and I have a wip a few posts down)
