Noise Removal ( aliasing artifact)

I'm using WIVI and some instruments have some slight artifacts in the 8-12 Khz range. I'm not too concerned because i could just low pass as the instrument is a bassoon but I am curious if there is a noise tool for this type of artifact. I am not sure if it is aliasing but that is what it sounds like.

man the first thing that comes to mind is audacity and I don't know why. I think I've seen some tutorials or something that says that it does a helluva job on fixing certain things- this might be one of them.

Secondly, Izotope Ozone 5 Advanced (which I think is friggin awesome) has some tools that does a bang up job as well as it has a pretty significant amount of tools.


but this is coming from me so you might just wait till the next person has something to add.

this was geared toward people that know a little more but thanks. Audacity is garbage, Ozone is a mastering tool and RX2 is their noise suite. Jebus.

bassoons are fine. Your little romance with them isn't. And like most , your knowledge of it probably doesn't go past peter and the wolf. Modern scores really don't use the bassoon in that way. So i kinda think you are full of shit. And all that other stuff. I think the point is that your comment made no fucking sense in a thread that isn't about a bassoon and the way you phrased your comment made my thread suddenly quite lame.

everything was fine until you went all homo on the bassoon. Its just tacky. And i don't care how you feel about any instrument. So i guess i just don't understand why you crossed that line and shared something really rather lame. People expect a certain dash with my threads.

Erm,Back on topic.......That's one function I truly miss from Adobe Audition AKA cool edit:

You could take the silent part, click analyze, then remove noise. It basically looked at the noise pattern and added an inverse phase version. You could then apply that algo accross an entire region or recording. Was fucking fantastic for quick noise removal.

AFAIK, no program since has implemented a function like this so easily or so well.

L4C, don't you have Wavelab? Have you tried removing the sound with the spectral editor?
