Bexta @ QBH

21st September. Can't wait. Ticket is a b'day present. Anyone coming?

Posted by Simon00 on Sep-04-2002 08:05:

I hope she plays you here wicked remix of ac/dc thunderstruck, you haven't lived till you have heard it.

Posted by Mikrop on Sep-04-2002 08:25:

Is that sarcasm I detect in your voice nervous?

If the answer is yes, do you think that Bexta plays cheese?

I can answer that... YES

Posted by Mikrop on Sep-04-2002 09:02:

OK. Interesting note that u can say one of Australia's highest rated DJ's plays cheese. Either U don't know Bexta or I don't know Bexta.
Anyway... I'm ignoring this thread now

Mikrop, I'd say you don't know beXta. No offence to the girl, but she's crap. I sat there straight with my mate one nite at plastic and just listened to her set, bwaahahaha, nice try darling. Sometimes, she pulls out some good sets, nice hard dark trance with lots of acid and stuff, but most of the time, she plays the same songs too much.

She's made some great tracks, but her songs tend to be a little overplayed at times. e.g. overdrive, joyenergizer, axel f, that sort of thing.

You'll still have a good time their, just hackle her all night...she's use to it

saw her play here 2 weeks ago

could only stand about 10 minutes of it, and ended up going back to metro's for some jungle

it was utter shite, Bexta is Australia's #1 female dj? with the cheeze she plays, I'm very surprised at that statement...

Actually my friend has her remix of thunderstruck...the beat is pounding like usual...and has the thunderstruck sample...

They were selling this remix at Central station recordds like 3 months ago.

I know Dj Mystique over here is pretty damn good, mind u she's dnb, but still quality

B(if)tek are hell good apparently, but I don't know whether thats just their production or their dj-ing aswell...

Lilly is a female dj over here, she can't mix all that well, but she plays wicked tunes so I like her!

Posted by Simon00 on Sep-06-2002 23:18:

See look at that i make one innocent comment about a track ive heard here play and you ask me if i think she plays cheese? I never said that, i don't bag people for no reason just everyone thinks its ok. But that track did scar me for life, it gives new meaning to woeful!

I hope you enjoy her mikrop.

There's a few good tracks on her latest mixology compilation. Fox fm had a set from her when it was out, I thought it was alright. I'll have to check her out one day. Tell us how it was when its over Mikrop

sounds like ur in for a top weekend mikrop

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Sep-10-2002 11:50:

Mikrop either way it'll be better than Mark James

Posted by Mikrop on Sep-23-2002 01:13:

This is the objective analysis:
Ok guys... to sum it all up... the mixing i did on mixmeister for my b'day party was a lot better than the mixing I heard at Launch. At one point, the BEXTA had to completely fade out of one track before playing the next. I couldn't believe it!!! I have not noticed so many trainwrecks in one night. DJ 1 (Midro?): trainwrecked. Bexta: trainwrecked. Pee Wee Ferris: trainwrecked. Maybe they were having a bad night. But all of them at the same time. I can't believe it. Maybe there was something wrong with the equipment because i noticed a few times that it sounded like the amp was cutting out or a cd skipping or something.

As for tracks being played. Hard trance, good flows (besides trainwrecks), a few repeated tracks like: exploration of space and "the track that samples 'push it'".

This is the subjective one:
LAUNCH WAS FUCKING MAAAAAAAAAAAD!!! Atmosphere was good. Very energetic crowd. Lots of ppl I know were there. Didn't want to stop dancing coz i was loving the music. Just real happy to be there.

glad you enjoyed yourself

not surprised about the objective analysis

Posted by Lanithium on Sep-23-2002 05:08:

seen her twice here in perth, and both times she has played a hard set of trance.. sure there were a couple of cheesey tracks in there.. but they went down well with the crowd..
