In praise of... Siberian Throat Singing!

How come no one has ever made this thread before?

This stuff is awesome! It's like they sing, gargle, and whistle all at the same time! Here's a guy from Mongolia doing it, and here's a Tuvan couple I find hilarious for some reason. I don't think I could ever do it without a tb-303 stuck in my larynx, unlike Inuit throat singing which consists of two women moaning and groaning at one another with so much anger they can barely speak. All in all, I find lesbians making out to the sound of dubstep more interesting, but that's just me.

I've actually been practicing for a few months by watching youtube videos.

The sound is made by shaping your mouth and producing a tone that matches your mouth so higher-order harmonics are produced. Here's the best dude I've seen/heard.

i love this stuff!! we used a lot of throat singing on the last audio project i worked on, i was doing some myself as well! the film we used them on is set to premiere at TIFF (toronto international film fest) in sept

i was the audio tech/editor for mercan dede's original score for the film

Yeah, his girlfriend is from Mongolia he says. Very funny, a white guy in such an outfit and he even made it to the next round, so I might post another video of him when I don't forget.

And yes, same show, Robert Ten Brink is the backstage guy for this show. He's a well known TV show host in Holland and has 5 daughters.
