Plugins for Reason 2

Are there any plans to make any?

Wouldnt it be good it if you good buy new virtual equipment to put into the Reason Rack.

If there arent any plans to make any, why aren't there?

Probably cos most plug-ins of decent quality these days tend to be VST, and since reason can be slaved to cubase, they probably decided it would be easier to just use VST.

Just a guess though

Plugins for reason will never happen, because the general concept of Reason is an all-in-one-package. You buy Reason, and then you're done is the thought behind it.

But you can rewire it to cubase and use VST's in combination with it can't you? if you want to

Yep, your probably right, ah well. Its just using VST instruments aint the same as having it in a reason rack, using nething in the reason rack is dangerously easy and quick. What can ya do?

But if I rewire Reason into Cubase and wanna use VST-plugins... How do I then use Rebirth if I get that? Or can I use those VST-plugins via Rebirth so I don't need Cubase for that?

And rewire comes with Reason?

Posted by hey cheggy on Sep-05-2002 14:52:

yes, rewire comes in reason, and you can rewire rebirth to reason as well.

But can i use VSTs with Rebirth without Cubase?

Damn! That would be so so easy

This is my problem with reason. If they make a new version which allows you to use plug-ins as actual rack modules for the reason rack then I would gladly pay a lot for it. I love the way you can route everything like real hardware in Reason, but I just want more power. Also, I hate that sequencer. I rather use Sonar anyday for sequencing.

Posted by hey cheggy on Sep-06-2002 08:13:

Agreed, the secquencing is no good. I always export the sound as audio files and use a seperate sequencer. I find you can do more that way, although it takes more time and memory and is anoying if you need to make slight changes to the pattern

I never used to like it but now ive been using the sequencer for well over a year now its grown on me and iv got a lot quicker with it. Once you get the hot keys down it makes life a lot easier.

I haven't found a better sequencer yet

...except when it comes to wave files nothing beats Acid.

I like the sequencer in Reason, much better than the one (playlist) on FruityLoops.

Tom_cowan, what U mean by "...the hot keys down..."?

Posted by Tom_cowan on Sep-07-2002 22:50:

I meant using control and alt n stuff. Like copying by holding down control and draging blocks around. Thats another thing i like, the way you group note together in blocks. Id choose the reason sequencer over the cubase one everytime as far as ease of use goes. Tell ya what tho, running cubase and reason along side each other using rewire then switching between them frequently can really mess up your head But it gets easier with time
