Deepchord presents: Echospace - Silent World (new Echospace album)

http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=16686

OH SHIT. If I had to guess I'll say it will sound like a more ambient-ish and experimental version of Liumin and obviously without the Tokyo-themed field recordings.

By the way I think it's pretty weird that this is coming out of nowhere considering there's also an Cv313 album scheduled to come out around the same time as this (http://boomkat.com/cds/468803-cv313-dimensional-space)

Ah, fuck yeah. 2012 has been fantastic for music so far. cv313 isn't too shabby, either.

EDIT: Ha, one of the replies to that article is by ASC. He's got a new album out later this year as well, entitled Out Of Synch. Happy times.

Yep. I don't know what's up with 2012, but for some reason everybody is going crazy with releasing music.

The last 9 months have been absolutely incredible for music. I really think this scene as a whole is on the up swing.

Total hypothesis, but if this one was rejected by Modern Love, one of the most cutting edge labels around, I have some fears. I really can't see why would they self-initiatively release it on their own label. Excited to hear what it sounds like nevertheless, but unlike Liumin, it won't be an automatic buy.

Isnt that what Disc 2 of Liumin was for?

I agree. I was also skeptical of the Altering Illusions release, which I'm pretty sure was just comprised of stuff they had made previously but that they didnt think was good enough to release.

I'd be seriously impressed if Modern Love had the A&R balls to reject an Echospace album for not being interesting enough. The thing is, even if they couldn't do it on Modern Love they'd have no shortage of suitors in terms of techno labels looking to release an Echospace album, so there's no reason why they'd be forced to put it out themselves.

The original date when this was announced was june the 17th. I think they postponed it, which wouldn't be too surprising considering how much they love to delay things.

So is this actually out, then? The release date has passed, yet I can't really find anywhere actually selling it.

Boomkat says ships in 4 days, Interstellarsounds (I think that's their distributor) says ships on the 24th. So I guess (hopefully) it'll be out within this or next week.

The Cv313 album has been delayed for another 60 days according to boomkat. I know of people on last.fm that have pre-ordered that thing over a year ago lol.

The Deepchord record should be out sometime in August. (Probably without delay as it's getting released by Soma)

I'm reading 56 dollars for an LP + CD package.

Way to take a no-brainer (any echospace release) and make me actually stop and think about it.

I can see if these guys only had like 100 fans and were taking losses, but they seem to have gone extreme on production costs in the face of incredible sales to this point. For fuck sake its not even a 2x12.

I'll pay it but this music had better be rocking for that price.

Nice drums and atmosphere, really liking 01

By the way, apparently this record is the soundtrack to an independent movie by Modell that is coming out later this year. I'm pretty interested to see what that is going to be like. Here is his youtube channel if you're interested.

On boomkat, too. Meh, no digital? And I'm wondering if the vinyl has the same tracks as the CD.

Man, Juno is a really badly designed website.

I've tried to help them on a few occasions with different gui ideas. They've implemented the majority of what I suggested. If you find something unreasonble, use the contact us form. They actually listen.
