So I went to software in 2004 mostly due to school, moving and the fact that software was good enough but lately it seams eveyone is selling stuff and ridiculous crack addict prices. I just bought n andromeda for 800. a g2 for 1000, a q for 300, a virus b for 600.

I suppose having recently started doing edm again has made something I keep an eye out for but ya, people are desperate.

I think the hardware vs software debate (at reasonably affordable prices at least) is now purely a choice based on preference, as end results are mostly negligible.

The andromeda was stolen. Well most likely. He had it priced at 1500, but musicians are broke and people don't have that kind of money on hand. And i could just tell this guy was an addict as he didn't know anything about it. So i just looked at the serial which was scratched, made an issue about the bill which is silly because it is so old and ya, i hate haggling but when it is a drug addict, fuck em. Thought about calling the police but ya, i guess i don't care. Besides, he will buy some crack, and eventually, that money will get back into the economy.

i don't actually have any of this being used at the moment. It is in a closet till i find space.

kinda just buying anything that is extremely underpriced and that i once had or wanted.
I am going to start experimenting with my DI boxes at some point.

And microphones and preamps although they are harder to find in terms of deals. Those are purchased at market but they are more rare.

Synths tend to be owned by EDM people who either are just poor, have drug issues, or have friends that do drugs which results in theft.

I mean i also mentioned i had a case of Yquem 2003. You want that pic ? I will do it for you , anything you want but you need to pay me for my time. microphones are much like real instruments. They only go up and don't really degrade if taken care of. Like the classic ones. Your rode nt1 is not going to go up. Synths on the other hand, well they might not lose value anymore , most likely wont go up that much and will degrade over time.

And microphones have history. There is just something much cooler about a microphone. I mean imagine you had say the mic that was used to record Furtwangler , Toscanini .....

But you can't really have them out and don't make your environment look cool.

For the mics, as this will take more time as they are all in boxes, i need an income statement , and a reason why you spend your money on studio equipment when you kid doesn't get music lessons.
