June 21 - Free Arturia Minimoog-V "Original"

Set your reminders for next Thursday:

Probably crippled as hell, and who knows what sort of copy protection, but hey, free Arturia synth.

It's the back panel that's disabled, where the FX and mod matrix are. The front panel works fine, just like the real thing.

I reckon as a simple moogulation it'll be ace. I always liked Minimoog but never bought it because I feel it's too much for too little.

The cut down version will be great for basses and ting.

So, I assume that means that the FX and mod matrix are still there internally, but hard-wired for each preset??? If so, I would hope that you would at least have the option to turn the FX off per preset, so that you could just use your own third-party FX if you don't like a preset's FX.

Good point.

Apparently all the 2.5 presets are there so you'd hope you can at least mute them.

From an Artura bod over at KVR

FYI, no eLicenser for this one. It will be polyphonic, the only limitation is that you don't have access to the extra features (Motion Record, Vocal Filter, Modulation Matrix, Arpeggiator, FXs) but you can play the included presets that are using them. Kevin

Servers are slammed, took multiple tries to get auth code and to download page. Still can't get download. This is probably not worth the effort, but maybe I'll find a use for it.

I just refreshed the page a few times for about 30 minutes and it worked fine. Not really much effort for a pretty good free plugin.

The FX can be disabled too, so that's all good.

Couldn't access the page thus far. Does it hand out unique activation codes for everyone or is it easy to share later on? I prefer getting it straight from arturia but that would require a working website hehe.

Is this worth getting given all the other softsynths around at the moment?

So I gave up after several hours, plus I have a flu of some sort, so I went to bed and slept for about 9 hours. Woke up, tried again...several times. Finally got the file to download. I've been playing with the MMAO, and it didn't sound right at first, but then I do to everything to make it sound analog: four instances of Togu Audio Lines Tube on low settings to give it some actual warmth. Now it sounds good.

You can get it through Facebook now, by liking this page: https://www.facebook.com/arturia2/app_273259112707534

Yeah once you get the page to work you just enter your email address and it sends you a link and a serial number.

The FB page method says you'll get the same thing within 48 hours, so I guess that's their backup plan.
