Be Cool! GRRRRR I HATE banging, modern uplifting trance

To excuse an electronic music cliche "It all sounds the same". It does.

It really does. Every youtube video i come across of aly + fila and arctic moon, neptune project or tom colontonio basically anything on FSOE. Basiclly its the same banging trance structure with a different melody or vocalist,]

How was we control the sunlight by aly + fila voted TUNE OF THE YEAR!

Does anyone feel the same

However exceptions are:

Sean tyas, Simon Patterson and surrender on that subculture 2011 album

Thats why ive started listening to more proggy trance like matt zo, arty and basiclly anything on ajunabeats

Think you're barking up the wrong tree here. Most of the current trance that gets played (or discussed at least) around here is made by the likes of J00F or Solar Fields.

Well i am new round here. So is aly + fila, crap like that considered mainstream. And stuff like j '00' fleming considerd real trance

And..... Plus whats wrong with anjunabeats. It's got a lot more talent than FSOE or armada music

So glad somebody else thinks that. Whenever i stumble across an modern trance tune i feel utterly depressed, thinking what the f**k are the new generations of trancers listening to. Quite honestly i feel sorry for them

Also i like the track i'd give it a 7/10 simply because im not in a listening mood at the moment

What sort of trance do i like based on my favourite tracks. And are there any other tracks i might like

Sasha- Xpander
Nalin and kane- Beach ball
Lustral- Everytime (Nalin + Kane remix)
Paul Okeanfold- Southern Sun (Tiesto Remix)
Paul Van Dyk- Connected
B.T- Loving you more
Paul Van Dyk- Nothing but you
Motorcycle- As the rush comes
FSOL- Papau New Guineau
Pulsar- point of impact
Pulsar- Cloudwalking
Signum- What you got 4 me
M.I.K.E- Voices from the inside

And i dont particullary like trouse apart from classified by jochen miller
And is this the biggest pile of crap ever?

sorry mate, they just dont make trance like they used to. you can try to mull through the garbage tracks on websites like beatport to try to find a gem or two but is it really worth it? i guess thats up to you

give it a few years, trance needs to die out for a while to give it time to refresh itself with new youth and inspiration.

i'm not saying it's all bad, but trying to find good trance is like trying to find a needle in a huge stack of shit

Except for the youth part, it already is regenerating.

Wasn't it the A&B guys that coined the phrase 'Trance 2.0' (ie: trouse) anyway?

I listened to that Aly and Fila track of the year, I felt defiled, not just for Trance the genre but for trance, the meaning of the word and the whole reason the genre was created in the first place.

Coldharbour recordings (and their red label) + Subculture all the way.
