[N] - Darkness and Drums [Industrial Hardcore / Crossbreed]

this is the first mix ive managed to record in a long long time, after soundcard problems. it was recorded for a show on my radio station that i run 'HardSoundRadio'.
fans of my other mixes will probably like this too, starting off with hard techno / industrial.. and veering into 'core&bass'.

tracklist:

wavelan - it will stand [rude awakening mix]
subhuman disorder - motu
jason little - we cant live without bass
jakub23 - sensory spastic
mindstalker - psycho fury
lenny dee & jamie ball - swarm format
synapse - nifty tick
n-vitral - kling klong
nobody - darkling [jan fleck remix]
igneon system - crisis situation
i:gor - what
syrinx - abducted
dj hidden - drastic

hope you like

Hi Jai, I have this cranked atm, about 49 mins in, this mix held my interest a lot more than I had anticipated, I'm generally not really a big fan of hardcore/gabba that much.
Anyway I found these tunes all made really interesting use of sounds and there was no mindlessness to them imo which was both surprising and refreshing. You sure know how to find the good stuff in the harder genres. Really like the last track a lot. Great mixing and direction too as usual.
Think it might even inspire me to put a somewhat harder mix together, it's been ages since I have.

Good job! This should fairly much kill off 99% of trance muppets, house tossers and hipsters, all in one listening
(I actually seem to have ended up owning a lot of this stuff over the years, I never mix it because it makes my ears hurt after about 30mins)

thanks guys

grant.. thats what i tend to like to do with my mixes, especially the ones i put up on here. hardcore has a horrible stigma, and i hate it how it all gets tarred with the same brush. the stereotypical stuff that everybody takes the piss out off, is the dutch stuff, which is also the stuff that i hate too. so i like to try to set the record straight a little.

lilith .. thanks for the listen yeah i am pretty sure too that 99% of people on this board wouldnt touch this with a barge pole, i wish they would tho just to have their eyes/minds opened a little.
and i am quite proud to say that one of my mixes that i uploaded last year was voted for a few times for the best mix of the year, which for a tranceboard i find amazing

Pff, and that for someone who likes to draw upon N-vitral and The Third Movement, Ophidian, DJ Hidden. All very dutch

In all seriousness though. I don't have any speakers at the moment and I'm not masochistic enough to listen to this on me headphones, but I'll get back to you when I've given it a go. Thanks for the heads up as well.

hahaha, well if you know who these guys are... then you know where im coming from

and good job on waiting til your in the company of some good speakers! .. it always helps with this kind of music still.. i hope you enjoy it when you do.

djdk.. lol i appreciate that. im exactly the same, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. in all honesty, i dont really listen to many mixes from DJ Promotion section. as i just know i plain dont like 99% of the stuff.. but even the stuff that i do like and can appreciate... i still need to be in the mood for it

just a small reminder.. have you listened yet?

Posted by Bierheld on Aug-19-2012 15:54:

I have, but I've since forgotten most of it again. I'll comment further when I've given it a few more listens.

I do remember liking it though!

sweet! glad you appreciate it mate. thats alls im trying to do here, just highlight what this music is ACTUALLY about if you dig deeper than the surface. it annoys me to no end when people classify the stereotypical hardcore i.e. cheesy synths and lots of rap samples and 'muthafuckin' this and that.

so yeah.. glad you liked it mate

Vaguely reminds me of the aspects of dark psy that I actually like without alot of the crap I don't and way more bangin.

The first 2/3 was my favorite, was just exploding with rhythm. Maybe I just havn't acquired a taste for the drum and core type section.

mindstalker - psycho fury

Dem acid lines

yeah .. well i tend to start off my mixes with hard techno / industrial... then lead into something else to finish with.. this time just so happened to be core n bass [hardcore and DnB]

and yeah that mindstalker track is insane!!! .. love it love it love it!! guaranteed to melt any dancefloor that one
