Sounds like fun, regardless of what anyone says about Tiesto, I still enjoy his shows. Yes, he's very housey nowadays, but even today he'll still mindfuck you at some point -- plus his showmanship is topnotch. Oscar G, Mark Knight are two house legends and Dahlback does a great job with the festival crowd.
It'll be a fun time, at any rate. Would like to go, of course it depends on real life factors too.

Can't believe how much these organizers fucked up this event
yea....it was PREEEEEETTY BAD...but at least Gabriel & Dresden and LazyRich were cool enough to stick around in town and play a free show at a club here in town. It was such a great show that it almost made up for the fiasco that was ESF.
Fill me in...what happend?

| JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thousands of electronic music fans were disappointed this weekend when a well known DJ cancelled his appearance at the Electric Sun Festival, which led to the cancellation of day two of the event on Sunday. Steven Vongvilay drove up from Orlando to attend the Electric Sun Festival , paying $59 each for two tickets. "I drove two hours , spend money in gas, show up at an empty parking lot with nothing going on, and a little sign that says cancelled with a number that doesn't answer." The Shriners posted a number for Matt the promoter on the sign ( 904-662-9825). They say they were owed more money for rent. Jimmy Ayala of jacksonville was one of thousands who came out Saturday. "Half of the dj's didn't show up, including Tiesto the headliner," said Alaya. "That is who they came to see. I paid $160, that is hard earned money and I want a refund."" Tiesto, a popular electronic dance music producer cancelled his appearance, saying on his website that the promoter failed to fulfill material obligations in the engagement agreement. Tarver Shelton says he drove from Mobile, Alabama to put up the stage. The promoter owes him about $600 he says and the promoter should be able to pay. "There was plenty of a crowd for all of us to get paid," said Shelton. "I think someone is up in their hotel room just counting money and trying to pay themselves instead of trying to pay us. " Pure Nightclub at Phililps and Baymeadows arranged for some of Sunday's scheduled dj's to play Sunday evening, and honored Sunday tickets,. Vongvilay said that was beter than nothing but he wants his money back. "I would hope there would be some way to get a refund, obviously we are not getting what we paid for." Promoter Matt Richardson of Red Line Entertainment told First Coast News that he was making the effort to answer his phone. He says all people would be paid, many had been, for others he was waiting on a final bill from his production manager. He also said he was worlking on a system to refund ticket money for Sunday's show. Richardson said he still does not know why Tidesto cancelled. He was paid thousands of dollars up front and he and his partners will try to get the money refunded. He says there was so much uproar after Tidesto cancelled, that other dj's cancelled as well and he decided Sunday morning to cancel the event that afternoon. |
