Yes that is right. People should sometimes use their brains, and look for other sources of mp3. AG made people lazy.

Now DC is the best, but it takes some time to get used to its interface.

Question

Whats DC? Is it the next best thing to AG. I'm using WINMX and it's aweful. Is there any thing better out there that you guys are using?

Posted by Str8desi84 on Sep-08-2002 19:46:

Well I'm using Direct Connect, but what's the hub info for TA??

Posted by CortexBomb on Sep-08-2002 20:09:

I noticed this info the other day when I surfed on by AG for some unknown reason (methinks boredom to the extreme ) and was suitably unimpressed.

Why the hell would anyone want to pay for a music stream of commercial shite when we can just tune into the Fritz live stream, or one of 9 million others and get *new tunes* by *top djs* *FOR FREE*?

You can look up threads on this using the "search" function...

But in short...DC is direct connect. There's a TranceAddict hub, but you have to have x number of posts to join up...there should be a thread about it still active in the Chill-Out forum. the TA DC is all TA members, so it's essentially your best source for new or obscure Trance.

The other main option that a lot of people use is Soulseek (current web site is slsk.org) which is a Napster-esque prog mainly for the sharing of electronic music files. It's not bad at all either, though getting newer stuff can take a while at times. Definitely better for broadband users than people still on dial-ups, but better than nothing.

these dead companies shouldnt even try to ressurect with monthly fees

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Sep-08-2002 20:21:

so long ag

Posted by cortex on Sep-09-2002 00:40:

Soulseek has been wonderful for me....plenty of new stuff on there...
It's the only place i found the remixes for the Signs movie theme by Paul Oakenfold, Photek, Tricky....

Posted by Verona^My on Sep-10-2002 09:03:

RIAA's goal is to control the music industry, this involves eliminating alternative forms of music, such as trance, and paying radios to play non-stop hip-hop & angry white boy rock... but I'm still wondering is what do white boys have to be angry about

I thing I dont understand, is why would you, when you could get a simple radio for the price of $10 or so, to play that kind of crap. LOL
