Talking

future sound of london-Papua New Guinea (Main path remix)

Download anything that James Holden has layed his hands on. He's a progressive mastermind IMO.

Graffik - A Lesser Man
Echomen - Substance
Josh Gabriel - Wave 3 (Charlie May Tsunami Mix)
Pole Folder - Enter The Rhythm
Yum Yum - Heavy Fluid (Main Element Remix)

Some of the melodic tip of progressive. Check them out, I think you'll find they're pretty easy to get into.

loafer "travelogue"
satoshi tomiie "atari (jaded in tokyo remix)"
sound 5 "the hacienda must be rebuilt (tarrentella+redanka remix)"
mike vandenberg "blue bayoo"

^^^ peep ^^^

if you dont quite like progressive start with tracks more trancey or mainstream

try:

starecare - faith
sasha - scorchio
private - first
max graham - bar none
max graham - shoreline
Danny Tenaglia & Timo mass - treatment elements
dirty vegas - days go by (lucien foort remix)

buy CD from D:Fuse, his stuff is really good progressive trance

I like progressive, its good. But If you dont like it thats fine, you shoudnt force yourself. IMO people seem to be really snotty about progressive being better than everything else the bottom line is listen to what you like.

Posted by Fire999 on Sep-09-2002 04:47:

Right on...if you don't fancy progressive...fuck that....but before you make a hasty decision.....check this out:

Satoshi Tomeii - Virus [Main Path]
Sean Cusick - Consider the Ravens

Cheers

the thing is it will come to you when the time is right... i used to hate it and think it was boring but the thing u have to focus on is not meldoies and synths ...listen to it for underground type of sounds thats what got me hooked....i loved progressive style that sounded very underground. I would say get your self a set or cd thats progressive and just listen to it loud let the sounds get in your ear..dont really focus on the beat always seeming to repeat listen to all the different sounds then mayb youll see the beat isnt boring it changes up all the time... just let it play and youll see your head move to the beat. Probably the first progs songs that got me kinda hooked were

Dj Nukem vs Chab - Shriva ...actuallly name of this track thats on the vinyl....or sometimes misspelled Shiava

and Tata Box Inhibitors - Freet (Trisco mix)

just make sure sure listen them loud and just let your self get into the groove of the beat..dont listen to the songs as if they were trance thats the biggest mistake people getto do...then they think its boring

Posted by dark_tenshi on Sep-09-2002 05:23:

Pappa and Gilbey - Validate
John Debo - Deported
Samuel Flash - Chilling Moments
Yunus - Red Pilot
Evolution - Walking on Fire (Bedrock Rmx)

There are just too many great Prog tracks in existence...Don't force yourself to like something because someone else tells you it's good. It takes a while to truely "understand" Progressive and it's really a adapted taste. But once you start to like it, be warned, it's extremely addictive.

get your hands on an anthony pappa set, he always plays good stuff.

Posted by Nastarte on Sep-09-2002 06:00:

listen to some Sander Kleinenberg mixs. or any of john digweeds sets' his guests on his show always seem to put forth a good mix. the echomen set was quite enjoyable..

I for myself thought it was the Josh Wink remix (because Sasha has played that one before), but I can't remember. Doesn't mean I can't distinguish the two mixes, I just forgot

You just need to listen to it more and more, youll find the inner beauty of it. I use to hate prog, but I love it now.

Looks like we may have got an ID.I do not think it is a Hybrid Mix,as Hybrid doesn't produce things that are 4/4.Can anyone confirm that it is Josh Wink's Head Of The House Mix?
