Does a mixing desk colour the overall sound?

I have an m box 2 running though a small mackie mixer........ Does this colour the overall sound coming through the monitors? Should I just go directly from my audio device to the monitors?

it does but whether the change is relevant , probably not given your interface.

I'm pretty sure your monitors will effect the colour the most.
