Drunk Your Summer Review

Hey everyone!!! I haven't been to this site in a loooooonnnnggg time because I have the world's worst computer at home BUT now that I'm back at school (which is where I am right now), I can use my free time to contribute my lovely thoughts to this wonderful world of trance lovers.

Anywayz, summer is almost over and I was just wondering how you guys enjoyed your summer. I didn't really have much of one seeing that I worked pretty much EVERYDAY at my low paying thankless jobs and went NOWHERE.....well, except to WEMF which was probably the highlight of my summer vacation (if you can even call it that). I know that some of you guys, Heatscore for one, were lucky enough to go to Europe and party -----> bastards!!! If I had money, I'd be following Armin wherever he played.

Alright, so there's the topic for discussion: how was your summer? what parties did you go to? what was the best thing you did?

Posted by bluE_Neon on Sep-09-2002 19:14:

my summer was alright i guess. i worked a lot at my cheap low paying job, but i did hit up some nice events. first it was Meat Katie in july, august Tom Stephan and finally John 00 Fleming, all were at System either than that didn't do anything else, expect going camping to Bon Echo for 3 days

Posted by Flec on Sep-09-2002 19:50:

my summer was great, i partied almost every weekend and got to go on one of the acension boat cruises ( my first) which was very fun. i also was able to go to Area2 ( would have rather gone to wemf...) but area 2 was awsome i saw: Tiesto,Digweed,Dieselboy,Cox and some moby

i also finished off my summer seeing gielen at viva and after seeing both gielen and tiesto this summer i have to say that gielen was WAY better

hope everyone else had a good summer

my summer was pretty great too... not as much partying as i would've liked, but all parties i've been to were quality, well maybe not sumemrs end, ugh... just came back from the finals game between yugoslavia - argentina in indianapolis, so that turned into a great summer, otherwise it would've been ok! fantom, good seein ya there too dude!

looks like the fall will be good too though... many kick ass acts are coming by our way!

Thumbs up

This summer was excellent!

The World Cup was fun to watch and made for a lot of early mornings - too bad the Irish couldn't beat Spain

The garbage strike was awful...I won't forget that stench!

And the parties...
Summers End party was fun (well at least the music) but don't forget about Canada Day when Max Graham & Oakenfold laid it down (especially Max Graham who really suprised me) and made it a night to remember.

But the best of the best for me was Mysteryland in Amsterdam. Great lineup, amazing weather, and very cool people. Everyone should go to a dutch party at least once in their life.

Oh and liquidchick: Got to see Armin not once but twice at Mysteryland, and another at guvernment last week. That's 3 times in less than two weeks!

Oh no, you did not!! Indianapolis was probably the best place to be after Belgrade. I couldn't even watch the game!!!
But we are the champions!!!!!

I had a summer semester at Sheridan College 2nd year systems analyst course. Watch most all the soccer games WC, head for some crazy ass parties like Sander at the guvernmnet and john at systems. Have been practising my mixing technique, spend quality of time with my girl friend, who is attending the same course at college as I am.

hand out with emaster, dj.eso, hordash, trancearmanda and many more.

btw it was an awesome bbq at your house, trancearmanda, too bad that two blonde chicks had to leave early.

anywayz it was not a bad summer, but I just spend so much money and all of my savings on school and etc, so now i have my coop term so i have to work my ass off.

overall 8/10 summer for me
cheers

Well...as a fairly recent trance fan (about a year) I feel so lucky to be blessed this summer with the opportunity to see central Europe and live in England for 3 months. And get work experience at the same time. It was so great to meet so many new people from so many different walks of life and see countryside and towns and cities so different from here. Best party? GODSKITCHEN! I don't know if we have anything like that here..I've never been to WEMF. But, can you imagine, Tiesto, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Signum, Dumonde, Fergie, MAuro Picotto, Guy Ornadel, TAll PAul, Dj Scot project, Marco V, and many more..just in the Trance arenas! THen you have other great Djs like Billy Nasty, Lisa Lashes, Lab 4, Lisa Pin up, etc...with all the hardhouse, techno, hard trance..whatever..then Digweed, sander K, Sotoshie T. and more with the deep house and proggy stuff...Dj Hype and all those quality drum and bass guys..and much more....all in ONE NIGHT! Complete overkill! How can you choose to see so many great guys in one night? Well, don't get too mashed, be organised etc.. But it almost hurts to be having a great time watching Ferry Corsten then thinking..shit, I'm missing Tiesto, and that sort of thing. All I can say is that Godskitchen (and trance for that matter) kicked my ass this past July.

Peace, Andrew

Nice Thread Topic

Anyways, my partying is usually cut in half over the summer as I like to chill out at the cottage and use the summer weather for what it's worth. I did manage to make my way to Satoshi, Sander K, Deep Dish, Sasha and Digweed (I know it was april but..) Danny Howells x2, Tom Stephan x2, John OO, and Armin, all in all not a big party summer.Would have liked to make it WEMF, but the dissapointment of last years couldnt budge me. The cold season is comming and that when I seek the clubs for shelter. Looking forward to a wicked winter line up.

Yep... and I just found out on Friday nite (brunette, you saw me that night ) that we're actually gonna bust down to Indiana... and oh my god, did that weekend make up this whole summer to me!!! Jesus Christ, those semifinal and final games were just out of this world, unique experience... and yes, a whole lot of other tripouts down in USA (just got back to Toronto last nite). Props to everyone who made it down there, and to all the people that stayed in T.O and closed the damn city down after the game - RESPECT!

Ok, back to the topic... party-wise, my summer has been quiet, I actually worked a lot, wasted a lot of time on who knows what and checked out like 4-5 parties, and that's it. Nothing special, except for Tiesto in Montreal on June 8, Area 2 and Summer's End. And of course, the World Basketball Championship this past week...

I'm so jealous. That sounds like such an amazing experience. Too bad you had to come home. If I got to go to Godskitchen, I don't think I'd come home.

LOL! np bro! don't worry about those chicks they were maloletki anyways! LOL!

Well as for me I had an awesome summer, not really party wise, but more personal stuff.

I finally bought a pair of good professional decks and a mixer. Spend all my money on that and vinyl. Worked hard at my mediocore job. Took a summer course @ sheridan. Planned to go to see Europe but that kind of fell through.

But I had a blast hanging out with Mecha and all the other people this summer. NEXT ON! Marco V, hopefully this will be the best way to wrap up the summer with a bang from Marco V! FINALY he is in TO and he is actually playing. I guess it's almost the same story as Ferry and his gigs in Toronto! LOL!

See you all at Marco V!

Oh and LIQUIDCHICK sorry that u can't make it to the Marco V, there is always another time. Most likely we'll meet up again when Armin is back in TO in OCT!!!

Posted by Durafei on Sep-10-2002 16:41:

Well, this has easily been the best summer of my life for me, even despite the fact that I had my toughest university school term during june and july.

June - had an awesome party at my place till 5AM because of which almost got kicked out of apartment by management. On june 15th - saw Armin Van Buuren.

July - no time for anything except for school. Sounds boring. Hell no. Because it was so busy, time went by so fast I didn't even notice.

August - had my exams and headed to Holland and Ibiza. Well, now you know why it was my best summer ever

October??? I thought he's coming back in November??? Ferry Corsten is in October. Well, whatever the date, I'll definitely be there. Where there's Armin (in Ontario of course), there's Liquidchick!!!

Okay, just confirmed it, my baby will be back Nov. 11. So trancearmada, I'll see you then.

LOL! yeah I got the date confused! Are you not going out to see Corsten???

My summer startedoff with graduation... I'm a college grad now (a small round of applause considering it was my second try at post-secondary and I'm officially a pot-head). This was followed by a jag down to Cuba.

I returned in June, slept for a week, and then started clubbing. My first experience with the Guv was Oakenfold infact...

Attended a bunch of parties at Guv, System and a few other places...

Hit Montreal for a few days, followed by Boston and NYC (Ground Zero is a serious trip when sketched out). And I am in the preparation stages for a trip to Europe (probably London & Amsterdam + wherever else I think I can find a good party - suggestions are gladly welcomed on this)...

During all this I worked full time in PR...

I'm ready to f'en drop... I'm sure I can find something to keep me going, I can hear the beat now...

Cheers,
Fats
