Hey what do you think the best headphones are on the market today.

In my opinion is beat mixers or pros

I would rather shit in my hands and clap than watch this thread get out of hand so if any handbags are drawn i will just shut this down.

jdizzler, do you produce or are you only going to be dj'ing?
What's your budget.

PivotTechno, that picture is actually quite funny!

sony mdr-v70 is decent for djeing, cheap, not destroying your ears and quit solid. horrible to produce on because everything sounds sweet and soft on them. and they look retro.

Probably I will be producing music that's my idea

Duck tape two KRK Rokits to your head and you become a live show!

Thats cuz producing and djing go hand and hand.

Yeah but headphones for producing and headphones for djing don't, so your argument is based on piss poor logic. Go suck a fat one.

I have no idea what 'beat mixers' are, and pros? Never heard of them...

One tip, from me to you, would be to stay the fuck away from anything from Dr Dre. Those shitty chinese headphones aren't worth the plastic they're made out of.

I'm hoping he was being facetious. 'Cuz there are a boatload of producers out there who aren't fit to DJ a deaf wedding party.

sennheiser HD-25
Pioneer HDJ-2000 (the whole pioneer line is good except the HDJ-500 its shit)
V-Moda crossfades are good as well.

As always...MDR 7506.

HD-25's.

even forgetting the 'industry standard' claims... i have had mine for 10 years now! - and only just 2 months ago replaced the ear cups, the foam bit.

in constant use, not just for music and the sound quality is still like day one.

epic headphones. would not hesitate to buy again tomorow (if i needed to!) worth every penny. bomb proof also. had much abuse over the years.

any other purchase is a waste of money. these practically pay for themselves.

How do the AIAIAI TMA-1 compare to the Sennheiser HD-25's?

I have MDR-7506's and while they're good, I'm still not entirely sure that I like them for DJing. And they certainly aren't built for that purpose either.

The TMA-1 are like baby HD-25's. HD-25's has replaceable parts too.

1:Sennheiser HD-25 $$250
2:Pioneer HDJ-2000 $350
3:V-moda crossfade Lp2 $190
4:Pioneer HDJ-1500 $150

You cant go wrong at all with any of the above. The crossfades are great and hold up through hell and come with a great case.

I produce with DJ headphones and my mixes are pretty solid most of the time.

i've gone through about 7 pairs in the past decade, i still swear by em, having tried pretty much every headphone made for djing

Posted by rubez on Sep-04-2012 16:07:

how could you swear by something so unreliable as that?!

that's just plain stupidity, and it undermines your arguement - as the headphones are clearly pish if they are failing as much as that!

I tried a lot of headphones and i always go back to the 7506

Maybe he's incredibly irresponsible with his possessions?

yup, plus playing 1-3 shows a week the pads start to get loose and fall off easily, so i just go grab a new pair, i also don't like when the cord gets stretched out, once they get slutty i give them away or i get drunk and lose them or they get stolen

they weren't getting babied in the bedroom, but seeing some hardcore working dj use

not once did they break, i like fresh headphones, kinda like buying new underwear
