In Search of Sunrise 4 (my favorite compilation of all-time)
In Search of Sunrise (my second favorite but its prolly better than 4 but because I listened to it at least 300 times (not exaggerating) I have become jaded)
In search of sunrise 2
In search of sunrise 3 (only like the first 28 mins)

Sasha-Involver
Hernan Cattaneo-Renaissance Masters Volume 2
A state of trance 2006 CD 2
ISOS5-10 suck!!

Posted by lacksesepsotygh on Aug-23-2012 16:51:

a rather tacky hardcore compilation called raveyard 2001.

http://www.discogs.com/Various-Rave...1/release/43203

i first heard it in 1997 when my cousin used to dj dance music in my grandmother's garage. he gave it to me, and i tried playing it out two years later at a school dance with terrible results. twelve year old swedish children apparently doesn't want to shuffle to juggernaut - don't fuck with a ruffneck :-(

Aural Imbalance - Intuition
Freestylers - A Different Story... Part 1
LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression
Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure 2
Various - Echodub Loves (Vol 2)

DJ Tiesto - Magik 7 Live in Los Angeles 2001 -> probably one of the best Tiesto sets ever.

Paul van Dyk - Politics of Dancing 2001 -> PvD at his best, never got tired of listening to this compilation.

Markus Schulz - Ibiza 06

Posted by Sand Leaper on Aug-23-2012 17:14:

Has to be this one still. I doubt that I'll like it quite as much now as when I first heard it around age 16, as it's not varied enough for that, but the intensity and tight drum programming just blew my head clean off when I popped CD 2 into my Discman for the first time. Probably the first and only time I walked around in public with humongous headphones on, looking like a complete tool.

the main reason Magik 7 is so f$$cking good
is that Auranaut-People Want to Be Needed is one of the most euphoric intros of all time...probably top 30 trance tracks of all-time!

Ah, so THAT is where that Necronomicon-track you played after Volt comes from. I was convinced that it was another Ruffneck release I hadn't heard at first, as it sounded so much like that stuff.

I loved this back when it came out and you made a post about it but for some reason I haven't played it in forever (at least 1,5 years I guess)

On topic - D-Bridge & Instra:mental Present Autonomic ‎ FabricLive. 50

I think this one will certainly go down as one of the best and most important Fabric entries in history.

Scuba ‎ Sub:Stance

This one played a big part in forming my taste and got me interested in Techno.

Surgeon ‎ Fabric 53

Same goes for this one. I still think it's absolutely incredibly mixed and goes between Techno and Dubstep very smoothly. It seems like 2010 was the year where Techno and Dubstep really crossed. but most producers that used to be on the edge are just making straight Techno nowadays.

Been doing a few purges through the EDM collection, and as far as I can tell this is the only compilation album I have left at the moment >_> The discs themselves aren't close to my heart, but breakbeat funkiness in general is, so

'Twas Ted Promo who posted about it, actually. I haven't listened to it for ages either, but definitely one of my favourite compilations, and reminds me of a particular time in my life.

Youre right, I did some digging and found the original thread. It was actually enydo that made the thread about that particular compilation. I also found this in the original thread:

It's better than Echospace.

Really enjoying this. A couple of average tracks, but some absolute gold, my favourites being Back Home, India Joya and White Room.

Heresy!

And I touched on this in one of my previous posts but looking back, this whole experimental Dubstep thing really kind of died down after 2010.

By the way, what are your thoughs on the new Echospace album? You haven't posted in the thread about that after it came out. The new Deepchord on Soma is also coming out within the next few days.

I love the tracks on those CD's

Posted by Scoops on Aug-23-2012 22:20:

a few of my favs were already listed but heres 3 that weren't

Danny Tenaglia - GU Athens

...IMO the best all around mix compilation of all time. DT's mixing is flawless on this and this CD proves that he is DJ's DJ

Markus Schulz - Miami 05

...While Coldharbour 04 is great, this one just an amazing mix of prog and trance with some solid vocals.

Ferry Corsten - Live @ Spundae

...greatest LIVE trance album recorded and I put this above Magik 6 & 7

Austin, Ted... one of those damn Atlantan stoners at any rate. I've mentioned in my blog a couple of times how this strain of dubstep basically died off pretty quickly, with most of the more home-listening oriented acts going off in the UK-future-bass weirdness direction. There are still a couple of acts doing it - Clubroot, Swarms, Actraiser... Shame it didn't catch on, because it was more in line with my cinematic, atmospheric tastes, where as the UK-future-bass stuff tends towards more bleepy abstraction.

And I haven't got round to ordering the new Echospace album yet.

I used to listen to the Tenaglia and Corsten comps non-stop. After a few moves, I eventually lost both. I need to get my hands back on them.

Posted by tijs_fan on Aug-24-2012 02:20:

holy crap some of this is taking me back...

names so forgotten:
fred numf

cor fijneman <- HAH

eventhough these are uber commercial, inside we all loved these some more than others:

early 03' Hed Kandi comps, stuff with cats like miguel migs
and take ur pick of the Ministry of Sounds.

(CD 1)
Paul Oakenfold ‎ Perfecto Presents... Paul Oakenfold Travelling

Bunker - Descent is the best trance track to never get released.

Really loved that Rabbit remix of Bullet in the Gun too. Just a well put together comp with a lot of great music.
