Converting .wav to .mp3

OK, so I recorded my first set tonight onto my computer and as it stands the file is REALLY big, so I was wondering if maybe you guys knew of a program, etc that I can get that will convert the file from .wav to .mp3.

Any suggestions????? Thanks a ton

Hit up download.com and seach for lame - its one of the best converters hands down. And fast to boot. Try and find a program that incorporates the lame encoder with a frontend that is actually semi-managable to keep from giving yourself a migraine.

use lame the best encoder, every releasegroup uses lame to convert wav to mp3

it's a dos proggie, ain't very hard to use but is easier if you can use it with eac (exact audio copy)

I use Cdex its pretty good you can also take songs off cd onto your computer with that 2!!!

Don't listen to any of these guys, go download "DBPOWERAMP".
EASIEST program to use when converting mp3 to WAV and back again.
You can set it to do it at any bit rate also.
Easy to use, just right click on the file you want to change and its straight forward from there.

I use Audiograbber with the Lame codec.

anything that uses the lame codec will work fine. if you're too lazy to use dos command lines, just get a GUI version. =p

yep, http://www.exactaudiocopy.de and LAME is the ticket.
EAC rips CDs (tries harder for accuracy than other rippers) but you can use it as a frontend for LAME also.
