Armin van Buuren Explains How He Syncs Live Visuals With His Live Sets He Mixes On-The-Fly [VIDEO]

Armin decided to make a video explaining how he does his live sets mixing in tracks and their visuals all on-the-fly and in real time as a response to 'his colleagues' who claim it is impossible to do and say they need to have things set up in advance.

I think it is a pretty cool video and just goes to show why he is one of the top DJs in the world.

According to the description:
quote:
Armin van Buuren explains how he syncs his live visuals on-the-fly with four Pioneer CDJ-2000s and a DJM-2000 mixer using just SMPTE signal and fader start functions.

Surprised I didn't see this posted anywhere here yet as its own thread (I looked, so forgive me if it was and mods please delete).

the thing thats always struck me as being so retarded about that "story", the people who tell it (and, to an extent, the people who believe it) is that like..since the dawn of time people have been shooting off pyro and lightshows at rock concerts....rock concerts are as live as live can be..how is it possible that millions of rock shows can pull it off but that a few swedish house mafiosos cant?

makes 0 sense

This puts the nail in the coffin for the swedish mafia

Huge props to Armin for making this and I love how he snuck in a couple soft jabs along the way. If anyone has experience with festival shows using pyro/laser/display sync it's him.

He needs to start sporting a "I'm a trance ganster" shirt. I think it's time for a Sneak and Armin collab.. lol

I noticed the jabs as well and loved them. He basically says he rules and proves it without saying it.

Its great to see how technically involved Armin is in knowing his setup and how everything works. Props to him for that.

very cool.

its funny how people go on about djing being easier than it used to be...well ya it can be but its not like joe blow is gonna walk up and have this go down smoothly. lol
theres a lot of tech going on these days.

Not that most DJs are going to bother using all the capabilities of a CDJ... still pretty cool vid

best part of this video

"So my set is not programmed in advance,i know not before hand what i'm gonna play, depends on the people,so I'M ACTUALLY STILL DJING"

i bet deadmau5 watched that and cried himself to sleep because this literally debunks fucking everything he said in that "they all press play" blog entry
