Canada and Iran bromance

This came as a surprise. Takes alot to piss canada off. Off all the countries we deal with that do all and more what they sited where the reasons, seems somewhat strategic in nature.

I'm embarrassed to be a Canadian today.Makes me sick that this corrupt and illegitimate faction is in power here..

What upsets you? The protest of diplomacy itself (understandable in some sense), or the fact that they are doing so to condemn Iran's own corrupt regime and its likewise support of Syria's corrupt regime?

It upsets me because they have not given us any reasons as to why they made this decision now. Why now? Did something happened? They obligated to explain their position to the public. Was there suddenly a threat to the Canadian embassy?

quote:
Baird said he was worried about the safety of diplomats in Tehran following recent attacks on the British embassy in the country.

WTF is that?

government lol

Iran is not a threat to any country out there. It is surrounded by countries that wants it destroyed from all directions because of its rich resources and extremely important geopolitical situation. I do not support the government on this and will vote against them.

^ vote? LOL

i voted once there
it was funny.

And I'm sure your vote will be duly noted.

Not really. I watch RT on a daily basis, and while I like the alternate opinion it offers (as opposed to american press), it's so far up Iran's arse (as is Russia) that I can't take anything about their coverage of the region seriously. They spin just as badly in the other direction as Fox does in the states.

There's "experts" that they interview on a nightly basis are sometimes nothing short of paranoid conspiracy theorists, probably sitting in their mother's basements, spouting some pretty tenuous assertions based on what their tin foil hat told them, over a dodgy dial-up skype connection.

I never said believe whatever that comes out of RT. RT is like any other news organizations with their own agenda but like you said it is good to have some alternatives right?

When pkc reads this in lieu of who you're talking to, he's going to choke on his passion fruit daiquiri.

Eh? yes. That's exactly what I said.

But no, it's not really worth watching sometimes. This guy is better than some of their other "contributors" but still it's like watching a inverse version of Fox News, without the budget.

Posted by jester on Sep-07-2012 22:19:

RT = Russia's version of Fox News. Don't get me wrong, they do have some intelligent people, but it's still propaganda bs.

What I find amusing though, I read Breitbart's Big Peace and other blogs that are anti-Iranian and the people posting there are pissed that Canada cut ties with Iran before the US did. Plus they are bashing Canada for being so anti-Iranian now Plus on Huffington Post everyone calling Canada, Israel's new puppet and what not.

If the Iranians want things to go back to normal, over throw their government and put the Shah back in power

+1

If only more people knew about this fact.

Yeah, wish the west (US) would just get its cock out of there. Every rational Israeli feels the same way - the entire area would calm the fuck down about Israel if it didn't appear as nothing more than a proxy state for American imperialism.

I guess it first started with the closing of Iranian canadian bank accounts

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toron...ccounts269.html

kind of absurd if you ask me. It's events like this that should make people aware of the hazards of social conservative policies. The tradeoff of fiscal conservatism sometimes isn't worth it.
