What do you guys do when money is tight.
Talking about people who work full time,
I gota pay for hockey this week($500), which leaves me fundamentally broke for the next little while...
I've decided that I will not buy beer this month (the woman can....god knows she can't take a full weekend with me without getting drunk)..but that's barely scratching the surface.
pro tips here:
buy cheaper brand food
don't eat
i don't work full time...
but
whenever i'm running short on cash, i just quit boozing for a bit, and eat cheaper food. top ramen + peanut butter sandwiches ftw

Define "pay for hockey". Are we talking about hockey tickets or hockey gear?
Credit card. Well, that was until my dad gave me 25k. now I just dip into that for emergencies lol.

Corporate espionage.
if you own your home or condo, i suggest you take out a line of credit against the equity you've built in it (ie market value - mortgage remaining).
Invest that money into something that pays dividiends and write the interest off of your personal income.
a) use the dividends when money is tight.
b) use a fraction of that available Line of credit to pay for expenditures
The absolute worst thing you can do is use a credit card.
@ 21% interest a year, you're probably going to get fucked if you cant pay it back in a couple month or so
you can probably get line of credits @ prime right now if you negotiate
That is around 3% interest annually.
Interest rates are low, money is cheap this days.
Not knowing your financial situation however it's hard to give proper advice.

I'm almost certain it was a "you want residency, you look after me" kind of deal, but that shit isn't my business. I think I like her better than my dad. |
no such thing as broke in China, and i pay more than you to play hockey here, even though i can skate unlike you.

| Originally posted by pkcRAISTLIN yeah im pretty lucky with my upbringing all things considered. you seemed to end up pretty normal really. you know, other than the premeditated homosexual rape tendencies. ... true story. there's this mong in hobart that has been known to hang around on doors with bouncers. when i say mong, i mean we're talking IQ in the 50s I reckon. sure, he's retarded, but he's got a bit of rat cunning in him at the same time. i've never liked him, 1- coz i hate crazy people, and 2- because he could be a little cunt. anyway, at some stage during this mong's life he had been sexually assaulted by 2 predatory poofs. so one night one of the bouncers asked the little mong 'hey, what do YOU think about premeditated homosexual rape?', thinking the mong wouldn't catch what was being said at his expense. the little mong replied "uh...uh....they fucked me up, boss". people lost their shit. |
If you know how to/can be arsed to cook, try going vegetarian for a while. I came back from holiday in Norway (on a british salary = wallet shredded) close to flat broke. The costs I've been able to cut from my grocery receipts and the amount of food I still take home in my bags, all from simply not purchasing any meat or fish is quite astounding. You don't have to eat shit food to save money, as long as you just spend half an hour or so in the kitchen.

), but if I don't have the money, I don't spend it. Are you sure hockey is more important than... I don't know, saving money for future emergencies?
fuck austerity,
maybe you forget you put that 15 steak in your laptop man bag. When i was in school, i somehow managed to get about 100$ of groceries for 30$. Although i am white and look rich. They were a big corporation. I would not sacrifice health.
