It's mostly some horrible low-grade alcohol no one sane ever buys that did this. Then someone in Prague got sick and the authorities thought it was getting out of control, I suppose. It's a bit of an overreaction.

The insane alcohol prices in Norway ensures that we have a big black market, and we've had a few 'waves' of deaths throughout the years. Best to stay away from that dodgy smuggled stuff, and rather stick to the true and tried moonshine

Prohibition in the Czech republic

The Czech Republic has prohibited the sale of hard liquor after 19 people died and dozens were poisoned by methanol-laced bootleg vodka and rum.

_The ban, issued by the Health Ministry on Friday, covers the sale of any drink containing more than 20 percent alcohol. The prohibition is temporary, but no indication was given when it might end.
