Warmth

Did about an hour, then about 4 hours straight. Flowed pretty well, digging this Felt like the arrangement came together pretty well, probably one of the most flow I've had with that in a while.

Nice chill track and I can imagine this on a catwalk for some reason. Good clear n well balanced sounds.

Thanks for checking RB. Your mixes are always pretty damn clean so I appreciate the compliment. Just gotta outro and it should be done. I totally get the catwalk thing. It's kinda sexy and groovy. Plus, who doesn't love super models? Also recorded my own vox for this for one of the effects. That was fun.

The thing I notice most is the mixing and sound design. Immediately it strikes me as clean and professional. If this was a track on a compilation or radio show it would blend right in with other professional producers tracks.

Thanks for checking it out, Caleb. The workflow was really solid and I didn't really run into any blocks. There was always something to work on and I would go from task to task to task and slowly, surely, it resulted in this. Would you like me to make a 10 minute video demonstrating the mixdown, sound selection and design? Some interesting little quirks in this one. Amazing what I can get done on a Friday night from 11 PM to 5 AM when I'm not getting hammered.

Absolutely. Working on music production is a positive thing to do.

I would like to see the tutorial, always on the lookout for good tutorials!

Did work on this... outro, worked on intro, some other stuff... should resemble a complete track! what is this sorcery??

i get this sense that you could do better things outside of dance music

Like hobby wise? I'm pretty good at most FPS games.

I like the sound quality, but for some reason the track lacks that nagging hook to my ears. I find myself jumping around in the track, not getting lost in it. It has nothing to do with the soundscape though, that is done flawlessly.

So weird.

Also, you play BF3 at all on PC? If so, shoot me a PM and we can gun it up!

I meant like downtempo or other kinds of music

I used to play the piss out of MOH spearhead but I like reached a certain point and kinda stopped getting better :/ Got tossed around a lot but I think a lot of people were using aim-bots or something... seemed unfair and I got bored with getting my ass handed to me all the time

Posted by Evolve140 on Sep-28-2012 20:32:

Hmm, well I do dabble in other things from time to time. Will see where this road takes me. Just want to see how much better I can get at making house beats.

I'll sometimes game but not so much recently.

+1 for tutorial vid.

Very clean sounding

Posted by Evolve140 on Oct-01-2012 22:25:

Thanks. Going to work on that tutorial today. Think 10 minutes should be long enough length of duration? I guess we'll see.

Posted by meriter on Oct-01-2012 23:03:

just please don't start it with "sup guys"

Posted by Evolve140 on Oct-02-2012 21:00:

No alter ego for this one. But what if I go, "Oh, hey guys"?

Posted by meriter on Oct-02-2012 21:04:

make sure the first 30 seconds are an intro for your shitty website then make sure the next minute or so is you talking about your past and motivations for creating the tutorial. Actual useful information should start about half-way through

also some more sage advice from Eddie

People who are too stupid to know better compliment you because, if you've taken the time to do a tutorial, you must be famous. Video captures of Fruityloops on YouTube featuring the meticulous and boring muting and unmuting tracks and displaying the plug-ins you've pirated is the best route to go, here.

haha nice

Ask yourself this. Are you as good as MSZ yet?

Why does this track remind me of the 2000-2003 trance days. Like something that was played on one of the compilations. Dont gett me wrong the track is good man, just sounds a bit dated to me. (not necessarlly a bad thing either)

Posted by Evolve140 on Oct-10-2012 03:10:

Thanks for the love, everybody. Tutorial coming soon!

yeah anything that elicits an emotion these days gets called dated

Posted by Evolve140 on Oct-10-2012 05:28:

Oh shit....

Posted by stewart.m on Oct-12-2012 19:52:

good stuff man

Posted by Evolve140 on Oct-15-2012 23:29:

Thanks, bro. I made a 17 minute video of the mix and I wound up having system audio muted, so it's just me talking to a silent DAW the whole time. Too bad, it was a good one. I have a couple ideas for how I would do it differently so, still pending. Soon, though!
