you need to learn how to use ebay. Your opening bid is your selling price. Lower it by half at least, then place a reserve value. Second time i've told you this.

That won't work, they won't buy once they see the real price. Its also worth 1,100.00 new so i'm good.

they never see the reserve price. now they assume people will bid and the price will go up as auctions do.

And because you eliminate any low bidders that would never exceed the selling threshold, you lose all their bids which makes your item seem valuable luring in the real buyers.

If you want to sell it for 600. Do a buy it now. If you want to do an auction and sell minimum 600, set the opening at 300. People can state their maximum price so there is no more risk to you, people will actually bid and if they set their max to 500, then realize the other unit they were looking at was sold, they might just click the buy it now at 600. The problem with 600 opening bid and no buy it now is people will assume you have no idea what it is worth and are looking for 800. They just won't bother.

If this isn't evident, i'm not really sure what to say. Maybe study game theory or play a strategy game or something. Not understanding how people operate is a pretty big disadvantage.

Ohh i understand now. I will do this on the next item i sell. Thanks

Edit: holy shit, it cost 15 bucks for a reserve price on the pioneer nexus.

where are you located ? ah miami. How much would you sell it to me ? And would you rip me off if i sent a certified check. Ebay sucks for selling. The seller has the most risk. I got burned once for 2000$. GUy just claimed he didn't get it. Had tracking but lowered the value so taxes would be reasonable. I even talked to the guy on the phone before hand. I got my money but then paypal claimed i owed them the total sale and out of principle i just never paid them. But ya, ebay sucks.

paypal only, and i know for fact you hate paypal

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Oct-11-2012 20:15:

why would you turn down a certified check.

And it annoys me that i said everything last time and you didn't follow a single thing. Your add needs to be more personal. Right now, you sound like a company. People expect better deals from companies. Get rid of that form template. Make it sound like you loved this thing like your kid. Posting specs doesn't sell stuff. People will not just stumble on it. They are looking for it. So explain what it is in a personal way, why you are selling it , how great of condition it is , and how it is still under warranty.

2 days left guys. Killer price for a killer DAC.

Posted by Richard Butler on Oct-16-2012 20:50:

I'm selling 3 things just now;

Roland Fantom x7 - great super saws, pianos and plucked instruments

Analogue Solutions Leipzig monosynth - fat as heck

Vermona kick lancet

I won't accept a Bankers draft (maybe what you yanks call it a certified cheque?) because in the UK, one of these can still be reversed.

Hope you don't mind me mentioning this here Juan, I just didn't want to clutter the forum with another thread.

Once sold I'm gonna ask people here what analogue, or analogue hybrid synth for about 1000, they would recommend because I'm in love with analogue jus now.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Oct-16-2012 21:08:

so can a paypal payment. Except where as paypal always sides with the buyer, your bank will generally hold your interests in mind.

you are in love with analogue but selling analogue synths. there is madness to your method.

Posted by tehlord on Oct-16-2012 21:16:

I will give you 3 cuddles for the Leipzig

I want to rediscover the magic I once had when playing with a Jupiter 8 in a shop, with knobs and sliders all to hand - it's that intuative big sounding analogue main synth I'm after.

Sure I can fiddle with DCAM synthsquad all day, it's endlessly deep but it's draining to keep diving though massive menus when all I want is to route an lfo to something.

I'm thinking of perhaps DMI's poly evolver, which I realise isn't fully analogue, but that's ok.

The demos I've heard of the Prophet 8 do not inspire me as all too often I'm getting cheesey brassy soft rock type sounds by the likes of that keyboardwizzard chap on youtube - what it is with people like that never being interested in the real sonic possibility of a machine?. Maybe I need to find a better demo.

so why sell the leipsig. That is what someone would suggest to what you just said. It just seems you don't really know what you are doing and seem to blame it on the tools you don't know how to use. You are almost as bad as raphie.

Posted by tehlord on Oct-17-2012 15:47:

Get a 106

Posted by Juan Paulino on Oct-17-2012 15:58:

You hijacked my thread Richard, ahh who cares lol.

How would I manage to navigate this world without such sage advice. I prostrate myself at the foot of the worlds greatest living intellect.

BTW - Rahies mastering was damned good, indeed a techno label even asked me who I used.

Anyho keep the tips comming

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Oct-17-2012 18:34:

no need to get passive aggressive. You want an analog synth. You have a moog clone. I honestly think you just go thru the presets and realize there is nothing there for you to use. Then you want a poly evolver which is not what you describe as to what you want for a synth Learn to use your tools and i think you will not flip flop so much. No comment regarding his mastering. I was mentioning his constant updates that offer no real advantages but show a lack of thinking about what the problem is and what the solution might be.

I get the feeling you think a hardware synth will make a difference. If things suck or sound thin, that isn't hardware or software, That is you.
