What happened to LIVE PA sets-- was that just a fad?

I'm seeking to find local or regional artists who do live performance sets. Not quite a DJ, but not a full band either. Please post LIVE PA sets, LIVE performances or LIVE recordings here for review.

I think it has a lot to do with technical limitations and not being able to come up with music that was on par with stuff mixed in the studio, maybe back in the day you could get away with like live acid techno but these days everyone excepts it to be polished and few are willing to look the other way because it's "live".. like nobody really cares how you come up with it they just care about whats coming out of the speakers
