Is there something you know that I don't? It says the 17th, Wednesday. This is my first time trying to get early bird tickets. I know it's damn near impossible, but I want the best chance.

The real question is how ticket sales will work? If I buy tickets I assume I need to buy them for one of the two weekends, the issue with that is will the lineups be exactly the same or will one be worse than the other. Ugh, I kind of hate this whole thing. Ultra's getting to big for its britches. Either way if anything I want to see ASOT 600 if they will have a tent this year.

EDIT: NVM just read this on the NY Times website:
"Unlike Coachella, which promises ticket buyers two identical festivals, the two Ultras will have different lineups."

why?

Because the festival this past March was a clusterfuck! Too many people for Bayfront and it was not fun. Hard to enjoy yourself when there's just masses of people everywhere and you can't do anything to get away from it.

I'm assuming that the capacity for each weekend will be less than what the capacity was for 2012's UMF. Ultra will still make a crapload of money, but perhaps Bayfront won't be as rammed as it was last March.

They're also pumping this whole "2 unique experiences" angle. Will the "flavor" of the music be drastically different from one weekend to the next? I.e., one weekend is mostly electro/dubstep/hardstyle/poppy acts and the next weekend is more your traditional trance/house/techno/tech-house?

I look for them to follow a similar model to this, and I also look for a reduced number of stages and people inside the venue for each weekend. It might be a lot more comfortable like this. And it might be better for fans of both "realms" (the "EDM" crowd and the fans of more traditional styles) of dance music.

I'm probably totally off base though and it'll just be more of the same, except they're throwing an exta weekend in to double their money!

yeah, it really sucks.. but we really don't have the luxury to wait and see imo.

i bought the 2nd weekend and now i am praying for ASOT 600 lol.

It'll be a good laugh actually. The ones that don't really care to keep up with news about Ultra only go by what Ultra tells them so tomorrow their will be a meltdown of epic proportions. For the folks who already know they are already berating ultra on the facebook site. Too bad they don't give a shit about anything but money these days.
