advice 4 a dumbass (cd turntables)

hmm, bearing in mind that i have no previous dj'ing experience (appart from f*ckin about on my m8s dex and using pcdj lol).. just thought it'd be cost effective (in the long run) to buy a a cdj setup. [seeing as viynl is soo expensive when u buy in bulk]

just wondering what you'd recommend for a newbie like me? .. i have a budget of 450 ($700 usd) .. although stuff is generally cheaper in the states than to what it is over here..

was thinkin bout gettin 2x gemini CD-400X's and a half decent mixer.. or, like in another post - is it worth gettin a dual unit?

like i said, i'm a total newbie, do u still have to get a mixer with the dual units? or do they come allready on them? *confused*

what equipment would u need? i saw somethin about memory cards, i aint got a clue wot they r, plz help

Smiley DJ Well.. honestly... save more money...

I have been spinnin for a lil while, but I only got my own gear the beginning of this year.

Go used. best value.. I spent $400.00 and got 2 Pioneer CDJ-300's and a brand new Numark DM1002X. It works, at least enough to practice.

One tip tho, get a better mixer than I did.. my crossfader is already staticky. Spend more on the mixer and less on the decks when you start. Check into purchasing on ebay, cause sometimes they have some bangin deals on their. (also, if ur in the uk.. try going to ebay.com, some reason I can find different items on the different sites -i.e. ebay.co.uk vs. ebay.com)

Anyway, hope this helps a lil. Take it sleazy

Denon might be the way to go...

Hey,

You may want to check out some of the Denon stuff they have on ebay. Denon makes pretty good stuff if you are on a low budget. You can check out some of the deals on ebay here

think denon for single unit, and pionner for dual cdjs
you can go with the geminis, they are alright for the price
they work, and they have what you need

cheers m8, i was gonna go 2nd hand neways, prolly should have mentioned that.

Ebay, or yahoo auctions is where i'll probably get stuff from, just need advice for a decent mixer, would probably invest in a 4 channel mixer as in time i'll prolly progess to viynl, the only thing that's puttin me off starting with viynl is simple due to the fact that, as i mentioned, they cost too much when u're buying 30+ at a time, also as i'm sure every1 does, mp3 (@ 192kbps+) sounds pretty good quality when played out loud, it's just when u listen thru earfones that it's a bit squeeky..

ohh, and plus the fact u get all the latest shit b4 it's even on acetate

thanks for all ur advice.. if i find something that I feel is suitable on ebay il post the details of it for your opinions if that's okay?

once again
cheers

The CD-400X's are ok and do have more featuress than the CDJ-100's (Except Master Tempo). They are around $220-230 on eBay new.. that would be the cheapest price and place to get them from. Though CDJ-100's are pure quality and i think the cheapst ar around US$270.. i forgot the store..
