How much time left?

Anyway, this is what I usually do before exams: Wake up at 7.00. No exceptions. Start studying. No food / coffee or other stuff, this is mainly because caffeine gets one agitated and food puts the digestive system to work, ergo, less blood to the brain. Water is ok. Do a 3 hour session to 10.00 with small breaks in between. At 10.00 go for a walk and have a nice meal and rest untill about ~13.00. Then do a session until 22.00 with small breaks in between. At 22.00 take another walk to cool down and relax and eat if you are hungry. Then when you come back, go through what you've done during the day, casually.

Go to bed and repeat.

This is how I study and with this method I managed to ace a ~1100 page exam with 6 days study time (as well as studying by heart about 200 regular parameter for medical stuff).

The exam was 1100 pages long or it was on 1100 pages of material?

1100 pages of material. The exam itself consisted of a first part where we had to interpret clinical values and set a diagnosis (30 questions). If we passed that we entered the big exam which had two parts: 10 randomly selected questions where we had to explain the physiology behind a pathology from A to Z then 50 multiple choice questions.

Ok, that seems less insane.

What subject?

Believe, it was insane as hell. Especially that I drank 3 Red Bulls before entering the first part and almost pissed on myself.

how much time ?

Anyone going to university should always start seeing a psychiatrist about anxiety the week they start and see them every month so that there is a paper trail to support your end of session anxiety that is just unbearable. Due dates are always moveable at least for your undergrad. And you can get retard time added for time sensitive tests.

Anyways, adderal and clonazapam and a pinch of seroquel can make you a study bot and provide the amount of sleep needed for consolidation.

I never used it for school but i've had to work on some projects that had a deadline and sleeping was often not a luxury. It only works in the short run tho.

Are you serious?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-01-2012 18:55:

yup.

why not. I can tell you that everyone you know doing well used the rules to their advantage. Most people tend to only figure this out after school. Make your life easier and always make sure you have access to that retard card.

Posted by srussell0018 on Nov-01-2012 18:59:

You know seroquel is an anti-psychotic right?

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-01-2012 19:05:

depends on the dosage. It is a dopamine serotonin antagonist. It is often prescribed for anxiety or sleep disorders.

This might be a shock but most medication dealing with issues relating to your field of study are not used for their invented purpose. SSRI's were first meant to treat anxiety but that didn't catch on so they switched the focus to depression. Kinda surprised this is news for you. I am rather confident there is not one field of study i probably don't know more than you including male prostate stimulation.

Not as often as it's used to treat schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

I'm not going to mock someone for any legit mental illnesses they are afflicted with, much less for genuinely seeking help...

...But how much fucking therapy does one person typically go through in order to reach the point where they recommend therapy for absolutely every person and their expressed concerns over something? You want to connect with women? Therapy. You drink every day? Therapy. College courses stress you out? Therapy.

I hate to tell you this but if you're doing so poorly that you have to ace your next text (assuming that's, at least, an A-), you either need a lot of time, or a miracle.

As a professor, I usually let students even try again after the end of the semester, and I've yet to see one successful attempt

i didn't recommend therapy. I recommended creating a paper trail of alleged anxiety so that when you have to use an excuse that can't be proved or disapproved, booom. Psychiatrists don't do therapy fyi. Well traditionally they don't.

And i do think everyone can benefit from "therapy". Learning about yourself is never a bad thing. Normal , half retard or full on, learning about yourself is never a waste of time. Remember when you discovered your limit for how big of a bottle your ass can handle and the power you felt knowing your limit giving you a greater control of your life. bet it felt real good. Maybe real bad , but then good after you realized what you know now.

regarding russel's comment about seroquel. If you understood the pharmacology, you would understand why using seroquel as a sleep aid while you are using stimulants to study would make more sense and be more effective than traditional sleep aids. i'm not giving health advice. Someone asked how to do the impossible and i suggested 1 way that is perhaps unhealthy if done regularly, but for 1 week of blitzkrieg studying just might be the right thing for you.

Physical therapy has helped me immensely. I'm up to a full-sized keg now; my farts don't even make an initial sound, but there is a slight echo.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-01-2012 19:29:

i'm listening.

This is the truth. The only class I ever failed in college, Statics, I walked out of the final because to pass I had to ace the test and I knew I wasn't going to, so I just took it again the next semester and passed with a B-.

OP, just cut your losses and try again next semester.

How do you fail a class when you're a journalism major?

You married someone from the internet.

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Nov-01-2012 19:48:

oh no now i feel so

bad

now me sad me love wifey

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-01-2012 19:52:

i'm still puzzled by your marriage. Like the logistics. I've thought about it for quite some time. Like the steps needed for that to happen. I've had dreams. although in my dream, you can fly and your wife doesnt' have any semitic features.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not trifling. I just wonder what i would have to do say to lure Russel and it seems fucking impossible. I've even made a next action type plan. There is just so much that needs to happen.
