So who's the best at mixing in the business???
Not at mixing a track, but at general mixing in a set... just in case people get confused.
I'd say Armin, or possibly even Anne Savage.
i vote mauro picotto
Carl Cox, three turntables and two cd-player
Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Umek, Rush
worst... picotto jules etc etc
for 'trance'
PvD.. 3 decks, cd decks, MD mixer. nobody else in his field comes close.
ive heard Danny Tenaglia is pretty damn good

Jeff Mills (Simply NO EQUAL!)
Damn!!!!!
why do you need so much turntables???? god damn those guys are extreme pros at what they are doing. major props on them.
and to add more to the mix they use cd players as well??? holy fecies!!!!!!
It's hard to say who's the best. But of all the dj's I've seen live, Carl Cox really tore it up.
well.. also you have to look at the venue and its equipment.. for example, at this club i saw ferry corsten at here in southern california, he was only using 2 TT's, but just because thats what i saw doesn't mean that other clubs he doesn't use 3, it just depends on what is available i guess. and where they are, i'm pretty sure if a dj comes to the US for just one or two shows, they probably won't bring all their gear..
Alexander & Paul.
JEFF MILLS , DAVE CLARKE & RICHIE HAWTIN . The 3 best period.
Diggers and Anthony Pappa. Enuff said.
ok.. getting back to the question at hand, it seems that some people are picking dj's based on the amount of equipment that they are able to handle at one time.. is this what we are using as criteria? or is it ability to create a good setlist on the fly? or mixing skill and cue spotting (meaning the point at which the dj begins the fading of the next track).. there is so much u could use to judge who is the best, but i will place my vote on PvD because he keeps my attention and energy w/ all of these aspects..
in the deep side i would say satoshi tomiie has the best skills, for the club side i'd say ferry corsten.. the only person i know who mixing in buidups...
This is from what I've seen...
Trance: Paul Van Dyk (put simply, he is GOD!!!)
Anything else: Sasha (2 minute mixes are nothing to the Man Like)
Overall: Richie Hawtin (I know that people are wondering why I have him if I think so highly of PVD and Sasha, but for those who've seen him know. He'll throw 60+ tracks into one 2 hour set with absolute seamless mixing. His sets aren't just a DJ spinning records, what he does can't be described... and he's CANADIAN!!!)

Carl Cox was one of the first to begin using 3 TTs tho, right ?
I think I read that on a page (Radio 1's ?) sometime.
Best mixer is a tricky one, there are so many too choose from
and everyone is good in their way. But I think id have to say
Sasha, never heard a flaw from him and i am a bit of a sasha-fan
now after his album airdrawndagger.
I've never seen him live but
Dave Seaman @ Qontact 02
AMAZING mixing, flawless
I've seen PvD, Tiesto, Oakey live, and the Dave Seamen recorded live set blows them all away
