If you had no strings tying you down, where would you move to? (USA)
I tried out San Francisco. Was fun, but ready for something else. Been in a pretty small town in New Mexico for about a decade. Have another chance to choose somewhere to move. I had a sister in San Francisco so I had help there, but this time I'm willing to consider anywhere. But if you had nothing tying you down and could, where would you move? Or what does anyone suggest? Don't like this place, gotta GTFO.
Why restrict it to the USA? it would make a more interesting thread if it were global.

If the economy was good, I'd move back to Greece.

If there were no strings, then U.S. would certainly not be the place i'd consider. But I if it has to be U.S. then my first choice would be San Francisco which you ruled out followed by Chicago, Boston and Miami. Chicago and Boston are really crappy during the winter though.
Denver is starting to sound appealing.
Not sure what the employment outlook is like there, though.
San Francisco is a beautiful city, full of naked social security beneficiaries splattering STDs on public seating. 
I would move to Paris, it's awesome. Oh wait, that's where I'm living now
Personally, I would love to live in Hong Kong, New York, London or Berlin (and maybe Belgrade, as it's just surprisingly awesome). If you've been to any of these cities, then you'll probably know why. Little explanation is necessary. I hear Singapore is also amazing, but I've yet to visit.... but this should change in a few months.
NYC for me. Fell in love with the place ever since I first saw Jennifer Aniston's nips in Friends.
Moorea, Tahiti / Tokyo - I passed on the opportunity and I regret it

Paris is violent so i would have to be super rich. ANd away from the musies.
San Diego; either downtown area or in the La Jolla area...
if not...West Palm Beach in Florida
both areas are very nice, the people are very polite and weather is great year round
