The New Soundcloud sucks! Big time!!

that is all.

Yep, it does. The only good thing is the fact that you can listen while browsing. But the interface is retarded.

Posted by enydo on Dec-04-2012 20:41:

Compared to the old interface, this is a big step back. I get what they were going for, but it was so poorly executed.

has a website in the dance music community ever made upgrades that werent met with threads like these?

There's always complaining but they made it objectively worse, in regards to the interface. The old one was like facebook and they made it more like myspace. Which is ironic, considering the whole social media thing was what they are going for.

it's confusing i think i don't like anything of this new interface... what is curious is that when you upload tracks you get ported to the classic version.

Specially comments are weird interface was cool i don't know why they touch something that works...

Why in hell did i pay for their crappy service with this new layout are they out of their mind?

Let me guess the new interface are geared towards tablets?

That may be true but it still doesnt answer my question. The theory is that no matter what a website does, people will complain, because people like familiar things and changes are not familiar. Changes are therefor instinctively rejected even if they turn out to be a good idea when the end user finally adjusts to said change.

This is the new paradigm of web design -- hide as much as possible, parallax scrolling, staggered div fields (Pintrest, Facebook's timeline)...

I personally cannot stand the current trend of post-Web 2.0 design. There are some very serious issues product owners need to address with the smoothness that comes with these new layouts. The most noticeable, for me, is the lack of borders. I find it very frustrating when trying to gather what is on a page. Plus, all the extra junk to make a page look cool can slow down my preferred browser Firefox.

It's all downhill from here.

Don't actually see the point to much of the Soundcloud social networking. Isn't everything connectable to Facebook or Twitter or even MySpace? Preferred the old format.

Facebook looks clean and neatly designed. The new Soundcloud looks like a messy piece of shit.

this is actually a good thing as people is registering a soundcloud account by signing on fb but this already existed and your SC activity was connected to Fb also so... it's just a cosmetic change.

I sent them a 4/10 opinion , must be disappointing also for them to work on something and seeing everybody complains.

Posted by enydo on Dec-05-2012 15:49:

The user experience aspect of their redesign is just piss poor. They obfuscated nearly everything everyone was used to seeing. They also took up way too much space with this feed thing.

Posted by montana on Dec-05-2012 16:56:

yeah. you do know that you can change back to the old interface right?

Posted by enydo on Dec-05-2012 17:03:

I did not.

Posted by montana on Dec-05-2012 17:10:

to change it back to the old interface, do this: in the top right theres the more tab. press it and then you can press "switch back to old" for the old interface. problem solved for now.

Posted by enydo on Dec-05-2012 17:47:

Cool, thanks Montanaaaaaa

not really, for some reason it keeps coming back to the beta version at least for me, must be something related with the cookies.

Posted by enydo on Dec-05-2012 20:32:

Clear your cookies, yeah. Especially if you participated in the beta test. I had to do the same thing.

I actually have 7 hours of free storage for some reason. The only reason I pay is so I can see who listens to my sets
