Anakratis & DariusX - Sunset

Together with Anakratis decided to take on something different then usual (for me) --> vocal Trance-Dance. It is an early version WIP but should be enough to show our idea.

Have fun guys and btw we are looking for (the best would be) female vocal for this song

You are making progressive reggae


Perhaps Alicia would be a good one to ask for this?

I notice that the distorted bass note is a semitone too low at about 1.00, I think it would work better a semitone higher.

Could be a cool track!

Nice rounded and clear soundscape. It could use a little more dirt layer in the bassline I think.

Singing would deffo round this one off nicely.

Your observation is/was spot on G, what I would do without you man lol - things are adjusted and tweaked a bit already and I hope to see you smiling again

Remember this is just a basic sound/melodic idea layout for a vocal.

At the moment I'm quite pleased with type of connection we develop with this WIP, actually I should say I'm very happy and surprise at the same time but is still early in the process and looks like we still are going to have lots of serious work lol - but so far is going great Richard.

Thanks Mac, I usually let vocalist come up with their own lyrics and control melodic development of it but will definitely work together on proper structure vocal with the rest. At the moment I'm more then happy from responses we have and looks like we can have really successful production on the end of the day lol.

Can send you PM with some more info about vocals if you interested???

You will definitely hear our final version when is done - serious work in on the way already and I'm also really happy with the type of connection we develop with different vocalists, I couldn't ask for anything better then this

Hi D,

Always great to hear your work.

I'm a big fan of the reggae feel, used to be a bassist in a reggae band a long time ago.

At the moment I'm at odds with the kick, I understand what you are thinking, but haven't decided if I think it works yet. It kind of reminds me of how it sounds when a new starter DJ is mixing kicks and you get phase cancellation.

If you do opt with vocals on this one, then I think they need to be dubby for them to work with the theme.

At around 1:55 you get a bit of a strange clash in your lower mids that sounds a bit muddled (not muddy).

Want to hear where this goes and so far a great concept.

I had two things to work on before I decided to post this WIP up on TA site (but it was a different reason this time then usual one lol - we where looking for a vocal and decided that at least what we have right now should be close enough to show a direction or an idea where we are going with this one).

So -> one thing was this kick which I wasn't perfectly satisfy with and probably will rework it a bit.

Two -> 1:55 is the time (or around that) where a lot of things start to kicking in lol (addition of new arp, sidechain is level up and one of the lead is having its cutoff raise by few notches lol) - I knew I will have to work on it.

So let me tell you that by pick on those two items man you show me your level of expertise for which you will have great respect from me my friend - well done !!!
