can't really think of any big shifts of changes in 2012 to warrant a track that will be remembered as a classic that defined the year and will be remembered for years to come. Lots of good music, no classics for me.

A classic needs something new. Neither Concrete Angel nor I'll Listen has something specially new. They just continued the way popular track-makers have ever done. So I think there was no classic in 2012. But though I like them so much.

I'd definitely say Inspector Norse will stand the test of time and be a future classic. It's got a strong and catchy melody, along with a strong and unique faux-retro sound due to its Arp 2600 use.
