Frozen Garden (Ambient? It has drums n sheit though)
Basically an atmospheric winter track, doesn't sound too electronic cause that's how I roll.
FYI the distortion on drums is there with a purpose, but if it sounds too much let me know.
Let me know how you like it, and if you have good monitors I will let you do unconceivable things to me.
Not a finished track yet, lasting only 4:30 mins for now.
Happy new year.
Hey I really enjoyed it. The strings sounded pretty epic, and the distortion on the drums sound fine but just the hat is a little bit weird. Couldn't discern any major problems mixing-wise. Quick question: how'd you get the kick/bass drums to roll like that?
They were written in a 1/3step grid, played with velocities, and made sound somewhat gentle. After that it was just experimenting w/transient designers, harmonic distortion, compression EQ, reverbs, reallysubtle delay etc, all pretty usual and mostly subtle. Another important note is working in "low" BPM, this one is at 100.
ah ok thanks
