Remember when you could get banned for drunk threads?

Remember when trance was good? You know... back in 95. It's been shit since then. By association so has all other music.

Remember when your mom had your abortion?

Wait, no one does? What a damn shame.

I would remember but I spent my new years eve drinking so I guess that memory is gone forever.

How much of a trance fan were you in 95? How old were you, for that matter?

trance hasn't been good since 1988.
hearing 'tiesto - fly' in utero was an experience that shaped my life

1.5/2 and I seriously loved trance and ambient, that said by 98 I was only into eurodance. Technically speaking I was much more into 95/94 style trance by the age of 3 (in 96) though. I know, retro trance was too popular by then so it doesn't count.

Are you saying you knew what your taste in music was like long before you could parse a whole sentence? Most people can't even remember flashes of events that took place before their fifth birthday, you must be some kind of genius (or my favourite troll).

Posted by Psyshell on Jan-03-2013 07:50:

You can ask my parents if you want. Yes I was into trance back then. My two favourite albums from when I was young was mystic force-frontier and cosmic baby-thinking about myself. Or I didn't really have favourites I guess I just liked them. Apparently at 2 I danced to them a lot and I do remember at age 3 liking them (almost as much as I liked warcraft 2).

Now this makes a lot more sense

Your details were so precise it almost seemed like you were actively choosing this music (rather than having your parents play it to you).

Posted by Psyshell on Jan-03-2013 09:56:

I chose to listen to my dad's music over my mum's music. At the time my dad's music was pretty good... by age 5 I probably had my own preferences though... which happened to be cheesy eurodance . Either I developed my own taste or my taste was always there and simply my preference changed. I can't quite remember whether I liked the music based on personal association or it's pure musical quality unfortunately. My memory doesn't get quite that detailed about musical taste back then. I can remember in a lot of detail exactly what I liked or didn't like about games though as they were much more of a focus at that age than music was.

psyhell's favourite music in utero was the coathanger beat.

where is your dad now?

I wish, unfortunately DFRNT was in charge of that beat so it was shit at what it was meant to do.

My dad's a public servant who earns 60-90k per year who functions normal socially except for when it comes to dating self esteem, where he is very shit at dating. He reminds me of what my self esteem was like when I was 14. For instance he dated this girl for a couple of years who was very cruel to him, and in particular constantly made fun of anything nerdy he was into. So now he's stuck with this idea in his head that there's something really wrong with spending your time playing games... and that he should be watching movies or tv instead.

I told him that's bullshit, that what he does in his spare time is his choice and that if he's done his work stuff at work and his housework at home plus a little bit of practicing musical instruments (since he's into that) he may as well spend the rest of his time having any kind of fun he wants. If it's not specifically socialising with people then really it makes no difference either. If anything video games are much better for you than tv ever was so the whole idea that "oh gee if I spend 10% of my spare time playing games then I'm a loser, games are for kids" is just total bullshit. Even the mainstream doesn't think that anymore, maybe they did 5 years ago but they don't anymore. I told him there's nothing wrong with him and that dating total cunts tends to make you feel shit about yourself. Something I learnt several years ago.

back to ignoring the unintelligent bullshit that consists of 99% of dykes on jay's posts. All lights in his brain seem to have died long ago.

I prefer to only date people when both people are coming into a relationship on both honest and equal terms. I have no interest in fucking with people I'm dating's heads.

Posted by Psyshell on Jan-03-2013 10:52:
