They're both so similar... But Casino did have Sharon Stone as an excellent crazy, much better than the wife in Goodfellas. Maybe that's the difference.

The 3+ minute long shot that follows Ray Liotta in through the back entrance to that one club/restaurant is enough to make Goodfellas better alone. What an amazing shot.

Goodfellas. Casino reuses most of the style and techniques, but lays it on a bit thick. To me it feels like 70% of the film consists of voice-over narration set to long panning shots of a gaming floor while some vintage '60s oldies play on the soundtrack. Then every 15 minutes or so it stops so someone can get brutally killed.

not really.

One is told va the lens of the mob but is really just a historical period film. Forest gump and casino are pretty much the same movie if you strip away the details.
