New uplifting trance track

Hi folks,

First post, just registered here to share this track I've produced. I've kind of gone for a cinematic almost classical type of theme, but with some nice trancey elements, all tied together with a slight 'shuffle', to give it that less than perfect off-beat feel.

I'm pretty much an amateur but I feel happy enough with this track to put it out there and hopefully get some feedback/constructive criticism.

So far I'm loving the intro to bits. Did you make it all by yourself?

Up to the buildup now and liking it a lot, it progresses nicely.

Now the bassline..., nice chilled out feel and a good progression through the rest of it.

Nice chording at 2.37 and an excellent breakdown afterwards.

Build-up was a bit too short and climax starts off a bit boring, but then builds nicely.

Nice breakdown, the choir and piano is awesome.

Good progression before the second climax, I like how this one starts strong straight up.

The end of the track is a little unusual seeing that it didn't have an outro, but you still did a good job of what you tried there anyway.

So, overall, I have to admit that I'm actually in disbelief that you're only an amateur. How long have been producing for?
Anyway, I liked the vibe of the track however its sections seemed a bit short, especially the first buildup. Also make sure to start your climax's reasonably big straight away, because if I was rushing through sites to find some new tracks to download, I would have most likely closed the tab the moment I heard that weak opening climax.

Keep up the good work though, keen to hear more from you.

P.s. Get rid of the part "(Hi-Energy Mix)", it's deceiving seeing that this track is chilled more than energizing.

Wow, thank you for the really good feedback that is exactly what I was looking for, I can tell you've really taken the time to listen to the track and I agree with pretty much every point you make.

In answer to your questions, I've 'messed around' with music for years, but only recently started to try and up my game a little and invest in some serious software. I don't have much time to dedicate to producing music unfortunately, it is just a hobby something I will turn to every few months when I feel inspired. This is the first track I've ever made which I would call something near complete.

I made the entire track from scratch, no loops of any description and the only samples I've used are one-hitters like cymbals etc.

And yeah.. the lack of structure to the song with regard to lack of outro etc. - you're not the only one to comment on that. I have to admit, I feel as though I'm not sure where to take the track next, or how to 'tighten it up', as like I said I am pretty much an amateur - musically I know what I'm doing, I know I have a strong ear for harmonies etc, and can get some very strong melodic elements into a track, but as far as arrangement goes I have a LOT to learn. Hopefully registering here will help me improve my game if all the feedback I get is as well structured as yours.

No problem, glad I could help. And I must say once again that the intro to that track was amazing. You should try some uplifting, more 'full-on' Trance, you have some great skills with harmonies.

Yeah the intro was kind of an experiment with a cinematic/classical style, I liked it so used it throughout the track.

Has anybody else listened to this past the 4:56 mark? Really interested in feedback on this section, when the tune is in full flow.
