Smiley DJ Vestax turntables

I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on Vestax turntables? I have a friend who's offering to sell me his Vestax PDX-2000 but I wanted some feedback from any of you who have used them. Thanks!

I've used both Vestax and Technics for a few months. Vestax have better torque than Technics. Since torque is the name of the game on turntables, they are better than the Technics. They even have two pitch controls. One for ultra fine tune use. It's pretty cool.

I've seen them compared to Technics so that's why I'm interested. More torque is cool with me. My friend is offering me his for $350 (includes needle/cartridge) so if you think it's a great deal I'll do it. For some reason I've always had my heart set on Technics (I've never had turntables before) but I guess I should be more open minded

Vestax are pricier than Technics too. That's a good deal.

I'll take your advice and go for it, all in all it does sound like a good deal for a good turntable. Now I have to go find another one for a decent price, can't mix with just one... Thanks for the feedback!

normally i would say go technics but at that price you'd have to be stupid not to buy it

I chose not to be stupid and did it and I must say it is very nice! I really like the dual pitch control, all around it's a very controlable and easy to use piece of equipment (and of course I busted it's cherry with Tenshi).

yep i prefer most vestax models over techs or any other brand. i have pdx-al's (oldskool) but they kick ass.

I was actually surprised when i tried a pair of the PDX-2000's out. The start up torque was faster than my M3D's for some reason and i was just amazed...
But 1200's are just classic and the best build quality// though if the PDX-200's are cheaper.. GET THEM!

I worked with the pdx-2000 a great deal and I say they are amazing, go for it and you won't regret it
