Coachella 2013 Line Up

After the last couple years of shit EDM line ups, it looks like Coachella is going to back to a solid EDM line up.

I like all the Minus/techno guys, but there just isn't enough to justify a three day ticket for just them, for me at least.

meh

impressed with luciano, hawtin, loco, jamie jones and a couple pthers but no way id go to this for them

this isnt a full list here are a lot of the names that stand out to me on a first pass look:

friday
blur, bassnectar, luciano, infected mushroom, wolfgang, thomas gold, four tet, purity ring,
i missed in 2012: beardyman, seth troxler

saturday
phoenix, thx xx, the postal service, simian mobile disco, richie hawtin, major lazer, baauer

sunday
rhcp (I havent seen them yet actually), pretty lights, prydz, excision, james blake, loco dice, disclousre, mimosa, julio bashmore, maya jane coles
i missed in 2012: la roux

i'm pretty fucking happy, it seems a lot of people are upset but that happens every year

i'm sure i will find/discover a lot more names in the coming weeks that i will want to see

Most of em are bands I've seen at past chellas lol...
People are so stoked for Chili Peppers - they headlined a couple years back..and Phoenix? They were a big deal at Chella what like 2 years ago?

This lineup is better than last years and the previous for EDM. Jon you forgot to list Booka Shade.

I'm actually pretty impressed because I thought they'd just thrown in the towel as far as electronic was concerned.

i'm really hoping these dj's playing at Coachella will make a stop in LA in April at some point:

oh and Julio Bashmore, Disclosure. Didn't notice them at first.

Friday: Luciano, Jamie xx, Seth Troxler
Saturday: Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade, Cassy
Sunday: Eric Prydz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Joris Voorn

pretty good for dance music.

and in terms of rock/indie - the undercard is pretty incredible!

I am pretty sure they sign an exclusion agreement with goldenvoice - they aren't allowed to play in so cal for either weeks or a monthish before/after coachella. I remember reading about it once, but I don't remember the specifics. I also am not sure if it applies to every single person on the lineup or just a majority

Will pass on all of the EDM but I wouldn't mind catching The Stone Roses and Blur.

I am really surprised either of them aren't there. Previous years have been a lot of the pop stuff-AVICII, Aoki, Guetta, SHM, Calvin Haris, etc...

Seems like they went for a different EDM style this year.

2 years ago Sven Vath played a show at the music box the day after coachella ended on a monday, the show was hosted by Insomniac.

I can see Luciano, Hawtin, Cassy, Troxler having shows at Exchange and Sound come Coachella.

IF I went this year

Friday:
Jurassic 5, Luciano, Four Tet, Aesop Rock, Lee Scratch Perry, DJ Harvey, Jamie XX, Seth Troxler, Beardyman

Saturday: Moby, Simian Mobile Disco, Richie Hawtin, Booka Shade, Cassy

Sunday: Wutang clan, James Blake, Roni Size, Paul Kalkbrenner, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Joris Voorn

I'm going saturday and sunday because I have buddies performing each of the days and I want to see Postal Serivce on Sat and on Sun WU-TANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

I never go to Coachella to see EDM acts because less than a month prior I saw them in Miami at WMC so its kinda meh.

Almost positive the show was put on by Golden Voice. I hosted the patio upstairs.
