TPB: AFK (The Pirate Bay Away From Keyboard)
Anyone seen the documentary yet?
It's somewhat entertaining and gives some light into the 'problem' that might be 'solved' given the power big corporations have over politics and judicial systems in America and worldwide. It's heartbreaking, somewhat anyway, when creative minds get crushed by big corporations whose only interest is money.
As we see a new generation on the net and an old one leaving, it is interesting to see where all of this goes. New places of interest are being created, younger generations become more attracted to smaller and faster devices.
The future of the Internet might not be as interesting as it was a few years ago. That might just be me being a bit nostalgic of years past but I kind of feel sorry for future generations if more restrictions are put on this World Crazy Wide Web.
my curiosity is aroused. i copied it below for anyone interested.
The ending is pretty bleak, but even with all these guys have gone through, they still seem fairly positive. I don't think piracy is right, even though I've done my share, but the tactics and methods being used to stop it are pointless. The consumer mentality has changed and so that means the way media is sold needs to adapt. You can't just sue away piracy, it's not going to work. Netflix is a good working example and there are other ways, including one presented by one of the guys in the documentary.
It's on my Youtube's "to watch" list. What does it do anyway? I guess I'm going to find out tonight
Or you can also download the blu-ray rip of the movie from the pirate bay
Seen it on another forum. Kinda odd the one member was a Heroin junkie.
