Techno Forum

Like many of you, I love techno. I think a lot of people we liked the idea of Swampers April Fool Joke technoaddict.com.

Post/Vote here if you think that TA should have a separate techno forum.

Well it's not a bad idea, but I think it would probably be better to leave it the way it is. Since the genre lines are so blurred, we'd have all sorts of issues with people getting annoyed that a topic was posted in the techno forum when it might seem more like another genre of electronica to someone else, and since I don't really see any problem with keeping them together - since so many TAs like techno as well, I don't think a change is really necessary.

this is a trance site, so i don't think we need one. if ppl want to talk about techno (and other forms of electronic music), they can do it in the Music Discussion forum.

but why not turning the technoaddict.com site into a fully worth site? Off course you have to find enough guys who want to spend their time in the site. But in that way, tranceaddict will stay 'clean' (no techno forums, Dj Rush livesets, etc...). Personally, I also like techno. I even went to the last two editions of "I love Techno" (Greatest techno event in Europe...only a few miles from where I live ).

Of course technoaddict.com should become a techno forum. The domain would be a waste on its own if it wasnt anyway

Anyway we have a large amount of techno junkies on this forum (me included) and I think it will have no problem with getting started. We should get some peeps to talk to swamper about running the site or whatever.. I would help if it meant we would have a techno forum for all us techno lovers

yeah... however, I guess it would be too much for Swamper (he's got a life, you know? You don't really want him to run two massive sites, do you?). Someone else, in which Swamper trusts, should be in charge.

About the edge between trance and techno, well, I don't think that it is a problem

Yes of course. I expect there will be alot of volunteers through this site alone but if its a case of somebody Swamper trusts.. then I don't know who that could be..

Letting all us techno fans run the site wouldnt be so bad? But I guess thats out of the question.

Technoaddict.com is still up, if its already payed for I see no reason not to use it, unless it was too much work to set up.

Nah I don't think Swamper is letting go of that domain. Taub's techno forum will be on simplytechno.com in the near future

Is Swamper selling the technoaddict domain?

id say it should go on another forum, cos we wil have arguments and lame comments about which section it got posted in on this board.

simplytechno sounds like a good addy to met too, i'll register on that site if you guys have a good forum.

What I was thinking, is not necessarily having a different site for a techno forum, but having a different group for techno threads.

ie.
Music Discussion
-Techno Forum
Chillout
Rave Reviews

etc....

That way, there is little extra work for everyone. Having a techno forum will let people who dont know a lot about techno (ie. me), but who like techno (me, and so many others) learn more about it, and get suggestions for tracks.

Its just an idea. ive seen people in chillout ask for a spanish forum, or a finnish forum. If enought people respond, they get a forum. hopefully we can do the same with a techno forum.

Yea definately. And if that section became popular I think the site would follow after some time.

But we will have all the others going on about how it will cause "arguments" blah blah blah

Although the poll is 50/50, all that really matters is the number of people that want the forum. Even if 100 people want it, and 600 dont want it or dont care, thats still 100 people that would contribute to such a forum.

I know that if the forum existed, it would be used quite frequently. There are enough technoaddicts here to justify such a forum.

totally agreed

theres alot of techno fans on this forum, the techno section is ideal! BacardiMan is right, who is it going to hurt?
