Love this tracks combination of groove, baseline, and melody. It used to always get a great reception when I played out and I stil put it in some of my mixes to this day. Can anyone recommend some similar stuff? It seems like his more recent stuff is harder edge which I'm not looking for.

Deepfunk loves producing the kind of music you have linked in the OP. Kind of has that electro-ish bassline.
