anyone else enjoying PvD these days?

i was huge into pvd until 'in between' and seeing him at pier 54. fell off with following him, but evolution was okay and his set thanksgiving at Pacha was awesome. not to mention he was actually enjoying himself.

anyhow, caught a few vonyc sessions, and they were pretty enjoyable: plays a nice variety of styles at times and supports a good amount of lesser known producers. i can't help but feel he's found his passion for music again or something like that

on a somewhat related note, here's his track with kyau & albert with their vocals that i actually enjoy

hey wassssuppp Ottovani!

yeah. that voice goes well for drops. like all you want is to a hear a nice thick drop.

that being said. that was a half ass job between that bassline and kick. i mean this is pvd (king of kicks and spikes) and KnA (very well known for some thick basslines with sidechain kicks) ... i felt like that kick was annoying then at 18 sec it got somewhat better. at 48 seconds. typical KnA (which is a good thing). at 58 you can hear pvd spikes helping this. 1:18 i feel it loosing me. at 1:40 chaos. at 1:43 typical sound. at this point it could be anyone. at 1:57 here come that off beet kick? anyways anoying for sure. it would have been better if they kept it more cleaner and simpler.

aldi out!

I think his music sucks now. I gave listen to his Evolution album and it was really disappointing.

i mis the only time he played like a real DREAMER @ ARC for 9.99$ in a monday night

surreal, from the first second to very last (without new
vacation homes in mind or a new car), the way it should
b with intellect, eloquence and beauty (and the way 99%
of live sets r NOT by him or most in every genre and time)

It obviously sucks compared to his old stuff.

I miss PvD during the early to mid 2000 era.

This, i used to be a big fan from late 90's

I miss the central park shenanigans. I think 2004? was the most memorable with the rain and everything.

Roxy 2003, one of the most epic sets....

SS Central Park I never went to (though I WISH I did) after seeing the many, epic comments in the review thread we used to post up here after every event. Can't believe I didn't go.

But those Roxy nights, with the 7-8+ hour sets .. for that moment in life, when PvD was on the decks, all of the stress of life was gone and it was just pure epicness. Seeing our club-buddies, cheering and chanting, our Photon light battles, hands in the air dancing and chanting having a great time. Now all that remains is just a blurred memory.

Last, "enjoyable" PvD sets IMHO was at Nature One in Germany, 2010 and Terminal 5 set "aka" PvD Exit Reunion in 2011.

Small vid I made below at Nature One:

I wish I had been going to this stuff back then, but having just moved to Jersey from upstate NY, I had no idea about any of this.

aww man .. do you remember when Born Slippy came on .. and we'd all cheer, looking at each other screaming out of our lungs with joy ..

Vid I found on YT:

Got the chills going down the spine .. .

oh man, what a day that was...

I need to look for my copy of Global. That was such a great mix. It was perfect for long car rides or when you just need a boost in your day.

The last time I saw him was at T5 and I thought he was pretty good still. Has he changed his live sets that much since then?

His Terminal 5 set was a good set in the middle of his long collapse from 2007 onward.

For the most part most sets in 2007 - to 2011 were mediocre at best.

That being said, I missed the legendary Roxy sets although I have had the joy of listening to one of them, I walked by where the roxy was the last time I was in NY and dreamed of opening a one night storm rave style party with PVD playing 12 hours +. I guess I can keep dreaming... lol
