Would you like to know how to create a Cosmic Gate bassline?

Very Simple!

I urge you all to get Junglist from Synapse Audio
http://www.synapse-audio.com/junglist.php

How easy is it? Check this out!

Is that the Sonic Syndicate Junglist?

Posted by Tom_cowan on Sep-19-2002 14:09:

I WANT IT AND I DONT WANT TO PAY!!!!!

Posted by Trancevision on Sep-19-2002 14:13:

I want to pay for a programm which allows me to get the sound I like although if I got save some months...people spent months and years creating software...

Junglist ? the demo is really good...

I want a program that you hook up to your brain and it emulates the sound you are thinking about. Come on, let the nurologists, programmers and sound modulation experts of the world unite. I don't have a problem paying for stuff as long as it does what i want it to do.

Well i bought it and its running now, its an awesome synth, worth 45 but im still 45 down.

I'm just playing with the demo in my Fruity. Sounds ok to me But in that real version there is more those preset-sounds than in demo?

And I could use thisJunlist in Orion or Cubase if I'll get one of them? Fruity gots some problems with this Junlist (at least with the demo...). So I hope this would work better with Orion or Cubase...

Ermm.. How about that Scorpion? Anyone tried that one?

DC, thats a nice hard bassline. What processing (fx etc.) did you apply to the sound output from junglist?

Posted by xfer on Sep-23-2002 03:04:

Verynice.. but still not quite the sound, i have the junglist and it is pretty good but the ES2 that comes with logic can make much better sounding basses.I just recently figured it out. listen to this

Only FX I put on it were a an EQ and some Distortion. The preset used is called Funky Bassline, just turn off the LFO and play with the cutoff and distortion knobs a bit.

Posted by jc on Sep-23-2002 09:59:

you need a harder kick with that bassline..

Posted by 8Wonders on Sep-23-2002 23:26:

Heh i have no interest in finish that at all, just something that took a min to do to demonstrate that the vsti is decent.

Posted by Tom_cowan on Sep-25-2002 21:38:

Is the pattern for that kick bass,

kick x---x---x---
bass --x---x---x

or is the bass behind what is above?

Do you use attack on the envelopes?

Cheers

Posted by xfer on Sep-26-2002 06:47:

Well there are 2 wayz, to make that type of bass.
1.Take a reversed kick distort it. the kick should be 1,5,9,13... the bass would be 2,6,10,14
2. Logics ES2 using attack, envelopes, and lfo's assigned to each envelope. there are 3 built in envelopes. So its really easy to make your own sound. You can assign mad lfo's in the ES2. To me its the best soft synth ever. The Sounds are just as powerfull as a virus. plus you can change like 30 different wavforms in each envelope. the kick the same as above, the bass would be 3,7,11,15.

Heres a little demo of a song im working on using the ES2. I think it sounds just as good as a hardware synth. The bass and the synths are from ES2. Perc & and kick are one shots from a Sample CD.

Cheers, i thought thats how you did it, i just thought you might have to play the bass a bit ahead of itself to acount for the attack. Can you use ES2 as a VST plugin does nebody know?

Posted by xfer on Sep-26-2002 08:33:

No you can't, i wish you could but its Logic's own soft synth technology.

shit

Is logic worth getting then? I currently use cubase but im not finding it to user friendly.

if you're having trouble with cubase stay the hell away from logic... its the most illogical program ever created (no pun intended). Plus it's gone mac only, so no more updates. But the ES2 is a very promising synth... i wish it was a vst or something.

Posted by xfer on Sep-27-2002 05:21:

haha.. to hard for you to figure out russo.. if you don't have a brain don't plan on using logic. Every update they have made for logic has been release for PC. Including the new 5.3 wich was supposed to be for mac only, logic for PC won't die trust me on that

Posted by Tom_cowan on Sep-27-2002 08:36:

Well i use sound diver and thats fairly un-user friendly, why are logic products like that? Fuk knows, i want a macintosh!

First of all, whether or not I know how to use logic is irrelevant to the fact that it is illogical.

Cubase is nice and simple... it's a complex program if you want it to be, but everything is laid out simply and you can look at a menu and figure out right away what the menu is for.

But logic... did they deliberately make it like that? Should someone designing a piece of software make it hard on purpose, when there is no need to? I'm not saying logic is a bad program... it's very good, but it's still illogical.

And I wouldn't count on your updates lasting for long. If you were smart enough to realize Apple's strategy you wouldn't have posted that.

No need to be sorry that I feel that way lol... logic is a great sequencer. Personally i find that I just don't like working with it, and there's no way I'd buy a mac regardless. But it works for you, and since you like it you'll be switching platforms. Nothing wrong with that. Thanks for offering to answer any questions though!
